I think Andersen is a really good goalie but I feel like the market for goalies is so weak. I guess this is an over-payment by TO but they address a real need with this trade.

I don't know, I have a feeling the real Andersen might be exposed by a reduction in goalie equipment and a not quite as good as Anaheim Leafs defense corps.

I'd always worry about trading for a goalie on a good defensive team. See Bryzgalov, Ilya.

The Advanced Stats don't look all that great for Andersen either:

The Advanced Stats don't look all that great for Andersen either:

I have no idea what "Advanced Stats" means for goalies, but any chart that portrays Calvin Pickard as Awsomeness and does not have the Skatin' Sieve, Braden Holtby on it, is pretty iffy.

Also gives Sparks and Bibeau another year in the AHL to gain experience.

It would be pretty funny (and by funny I mean sad) if the Flames went into next season with a goaltending duo of Reimer and Bernier.

I believe Bernier has one year left on his current contract.
