Different kind of blood clot, though (not that I'm any sort of expert, but from what I read).

Stamkos' clots have a 5% chance of re-appearing. For me, that's about the percentage chance of me, you or anybody else on earth getting blood clots. Doesn't bother me so much.

Yep, in Stamkos' case they knew exactly what caused the clot and removed the offending rib so that it wouldn't cause a problem anymore. I mean, it's never preferred to have anything go wrong with a guy healthwise but this shouldn't be a problem going forward.

Stamkos seems unlucky, not fragile. There are guys that are made of glass (think Rick Dipietro). Then there are guys like Stamkos who suffered a broken leg on a 1 in a million play and suffered another 1 in a million ailment with his blood clot.

This is kind of like worrying about the pebbles of gold in the river when you just dug up the motherlode.

Maybe, but one of the Oilers biggest issues is after the first round of the draft has concluded, they basically close up shop and call it a day.

Matthew Sekeres @mattsekeres
#Canucks GM Jim Benning tells us he has spoken with #Habs on PK Subban. High price, and "it's a long way from completing a deal like that"

Matthew Sekeres @mattsekeres
Benning: "nowhere near close" to a Subban deal but expects if there is a deal to be made, negotiations would go through the night tonight

I would laugh if the Canucks swooped in and snatched PK right from under the Oilers noses.

I guess you would have to figure Tanev would be part of the package heading to the Habs for PK.

Benning speaking so matter of factly about the potential subban trade ... could he actually be smart and is trying to make Coilers pull the trigger on a big deal for Subban so a player ends up falling to #5 ???

Monahan, Bennett, Gaudreau and a time machine to get a young Iginla.

What am I missing on the whole Subban thing?

I can't for the life of me figure out why people are seemingly convinced that Montreal wants or has to move him ASAP.

If I'm the GM and somebody calls with an offer, I'm going to listen, because I'd be stupid not to, but I wouldn't be actively shopping him either.

Rumou(u)rs or locker room troubles, that mostly seem unfounded, plus the fact that he has a NMC that kicks in July 1.

Montreal would be pretty stupid to trade him.
