I can't imagine a package the Jackets offer the Leafs for #1 outside of 3rd, Jones, Werenski and their next two first rounders and them also taking Lupul back. This is beyond Lindros territory.

Having said that, assuming the Leafs would then go all-in on Stamkos, I'd make that deal.

Stamkos and his injuries scare the crap out of me. There was whisperings last year that he wasnt the same player after the broken leg. Now with the blood clots . .

But OK, who would you draft at #3?

But OK, who would you draft at #3?

It's a gamble, but it's one worth taking. Adding Stamkos to the Leafs' roster, along with Andy and a possible 1D via trade might actually push the Leafs into playoff contention this year.

I'd still take Puljujarvi at 3, or Laine if WPG passes like Bobby Mac says is possible. But I would still chase Stamkos with the 1st overall pick and just build a beast down the middle of Stamkos-Matthews-Kadri.

I have put up with him for 8 years. I can't stand him. Twatwaffle just seemed fitting.

Different kind of blood clot, though (not that I'm any sort of expert, but from what I read).

Stamkos' clots have a 5% chance of re-appearing. For me, that's about the percentage chance of me, you or anybody else on earth getting blood clots. Doesn't bother me so much.
