Coach Stitt of Montana was the coach at Colorado School of Mines for 15 years. Which was well after my time at CSM. Marv Kay was the coach when I went there. My wife took gym classes from Marv Kay.

Do I root for Montana because of the Mines connection or King Frazier because of the Cornhusker connection? In this case, it is Mines all the way.

Little known fact: The oldest football field west of the Mississippi is at Colorado School of Mines, 1893. IN the old days, Colorado School of Mines football was big and mean. When you have guys that had been working hard rock with pick and shovel for 8 hours a day, seven days a week, start playing, they destroyed teams.

In 1890 Mines beat the University of Colorado 103 to ZERO.
