Good that they're finally breaking ground, but the final design of this thing definitely includes some less than desirable changes from the original plans. Still going to be nice having a real basketball arena though. I'm not sure Verlin makes it until this gets built. This year was the worst men's basketball team in probably 40 years. They sucked with Perry and Pfeifer had some bad teams too but none of them played in a basketball conference as bad as the Big Sky. Already have Cam Tyson and Geno West transferring. If he doesn't go at least .500 next year Verlin needs to go. Hoping the new president and AD will have the balls to make that move.
Hoping they get Scott Green just because he's the only one with ties to the University and who understands the situation. The people on the SBOE are retards though so we'll probably get some other autistic academic douche. Callahan seems like the least bad of that bunch.
Shall we hold a candlelight vigil for the soon-to-be dearly departed Chuck Staben?
Correct. Only player from the Big Sky drafted this year.So Kaden Ellis to the Saints in the 7th IIRC?
Should become a special teams demon for them for a few years if he sticks.Correct. Only player from the Big Sky drafted this year.
Good to hear. Anything positive coming from anywhere near the football program is good news at this point.
They're definitely not as good as Lewis Clark State or Central Washington. Both of those teams beat the Idaho men's team in exhibition games this year.Walla Walla must be good.
Walla Walla University vs. Idaho - Game Summary - November 23, 2019 - ESPN
Didn't think so. Just making fun of Walla Walla. They're definitely not as good as Lewis Clark State or Central Washington. Both of those teams beat the Idaho men's team in exhibition games this year.
Ha, alright. Didn't know if you were aware that they started the season off so poorly.Didn't think so. Just making fun of Walla Walla.
To be honest, no... No I haven't been paying attention at all.Ha, alright. Didn't know if you were aware that they started the season off so poorly.
Almost lost to Evergreen State in the first real game. They've looked better since though. They might eclipse the win total from last year. That's not really much of an accomplishment, but I didn't think these guys would win more than 5 all year and they've got 3 already.
I don't blame you. I know generally what's going on because I regularly frequent the scout board. To be honest, no... No I haven't been paying attention at all.
Just happened to notice a blurb on my ESPN homescreen when i signed in sayin the Vandals walloped a team 100-50... Pretty sure I only investigated because I thought it had to be a typo.
Yep the Verlin firing was ugly. I think that was the last time I actually looked into the NCAAM Bball Vandals news.I don't blame you. I know generally what's going on because I regularly frequent the scout board.
Apparently the men's team has been down 5 of their 6 top guys due to injury the last few games. On top of that they're already bad so they've been getting beaten soundly by NDSU, Seattle U, and WSU. The team still might be better than last year despite all this, but they won't win more than 3 or 4 the rest of the year.
I get firing Verlin, I do. He had plateaued as a coach. But the way they fired him was terrible and pretty much set the program up for at least 4 years of dogshit basketball. And that's dogshit basketball in the worst basketball conference in the west so it's pretty bad.
I generally make it back for one football game a year. But it's usually the home OOC game which lately has been Western New Mexico and Central Washington. And usually those DII teams are still in the game well into the third so it's more frustrating than entertaining. Probably watched 3 total games this year but that's about all I can stomach. Any loss at this level is kick to the nuts and any win just feels unremarkable.Yep the Verlin firing was ugly. I think that was the last time I actually looked into the NCAAM Bball Vandals news.
Still follow the football team semi-regularly.
