Went to my first Chiefs game of the season tonight and saw Spokane hand the Blazers just their third regulation loss of the season. Wow is that Kamloops team good. They're fast, physical, their PP is scary and their goalie is fantastic. But the Chiefs have a pretty good team themselves and they took advantage of their scoring opportunities. Fun game to go to.

The Chiefs got their asses handed to them, losing 9-1 to Portland on Saturday night. I was debating which game to go to this weekend, Portland or Kamloops and I'm glad I picked the Kamloops game, heh.

Meanwhile the Winterhawks have won 12 straight. Gotta give them credit, they're doing much better than I thought they would. Carruth has been fantastic since being returned, but the guy is a terrible goalie, so it's just a matter of time before he falls back to Earth. Gotta give the Portland D props though, they have been good and that's something you couldn't say about the Winterhawks' defense the previous 3 seasons.

Haven't found a video of it, but Tom Wilson caught Yakupov in the trolley tracks last night with a solid, clean check. He hit him so hard it broke Nail's helmet, so Nail gave it to a kid (nice gesture).

catching up on OHL - Russia

- Schefele has suck sick hands. reminds me of Spezza
- Puempel - that pass on a tee for Strome. wow, that was nice.
- developing man-crush on Corrado. such a great skater.
- even outside of nailing Nail, Tom Wilson had a heck of a game.
- it sucks that Dougie (really? "Dougie"???) Hamilton will be a Bruin, but is equally hilarious that he should have been a Leaf
- Max Domi was pretty much a non-factor.

So according to this website, the Portland Winterhawks are gonna be the second team to face punishment for recruitment violations after Windsor got hit earlier this year. Can't say I'm too surprised honestly.

After reading that piece, I hope the Tigers are doing things above board (I think back to Tyler Pitlick and more recently Emerson Etem) and it makes you wonder if some shenanigans were afoot on bringing those guys to the 'Hat.
