What would the outcome be if Craig watched where he was going & not runned directly into Middlebrooks' prostrate body?

It doesn't matter. A runner can purposely run into any fielder without the ball in the base paths & get the obstruction call. It is not the runner's responsibility to avoid contact with a fielder who doesn't have the ball while in the base paths.

Kudos to Joyce for preventing a possible 18 inning game.
Can Joyce prevent the Seahawks/Rams game from happening? Nobody wants to watch that

(although maybe Clemens has a win in him)

Sure he would -- if Middlebrooks' prostrate body could magically cease to occupy physical space. What would the outcome be if Craig watched where he was going & not runned directly into Middlebrooks' prostrate body?

Do you have a mental impairment?

Who could he have done to avoid it so the runner isn't held up?? Based on the circumstance I don't think it should have been called.

I don't understand how to make it more clear. There was nothing Middlebrooks could've done to avoid it but regardless, he was still in the way and prevented the run for scoring. If he could've gotten out of the way the run scores. How is it more fair to prevent that from happening?

I don't know why Salty even tried to throw Craig out at 3rd. It wasn't going to happen.

Yep. There were a ton of questionable decisions made that will get overlooked because of this "controversy". I'd like to know why Farrell pitched to Jay, why Molina was running home, why Salty threw to third, why Middlebrooks didn't come off the bag to catch the ball, why Farrell waited so long to go to Koji, why Matheny used Siegrist in the 7th instead of against the papi/nava combo, why Choate didn't stay in to pitch to Nava in the 6th, etc.

The Defense in this series is making this series much uglier than it should be... Really irritating to see games be decided by who doesn't bloody themselves the most. HUGE pet peeve of mine to throw down to third when there isn't a strong probability that a play is made.

He indeed did interfered with him? Yeah, I read this thread (tread) :noidea: and you're not only stupid but a crying puss as well. Your team lost, get over it.

You weren't the one I quoted dik-tip! Reading comprehension obviously isn't one of your strengths.

But since you brought it up. Read your post again. Then we'll rehash the stupid thing.

It's been down hill for you from the start. And you've been the driving force!
Thanks for the laughs though! :laugh3:

why Molina was running home
The Cards probably figured they have a better chance of getting the Red Sox to commit an error than have Kozma drive home a run.

That's baseball 101 ... he is going on contact with the infielders pulled in.

I don't understand this baseball 101. Why does Molina run on contact with the infield in? It's very unlikely he scores on a hard hit ball that is stopped and he can probably moonwalk home on his hands if it gets through. Wouldn't it make more sense to have second and third rather than first and third?

Again, I think this has to do with Kozma and the fact that he struck out with the bases loaded earlier against a lesser pitcher than the one he would face in the 9th

Yeah, I completely agree with you. I meant why is it baseball 101 to run in that situation in general. I think what you said makes a lot of sense because I wouldn't trust Kozma or Wong to come through either. I understand where you're coming, just not where Lawdawg is. Why is that baseball 101, would Yadi have run on that in the middle of the game with Allen Craig and/or Freese due up, I doubt it. So, I understand you're point.

Serious question though, did Graig ever touch home plate? I do not recall seeing him do it...
