that was the worst call in the history of sports. you cardinal fans are dellusional. if the rules say that it was so then the fucking rules need to be changed. these guys were just playing ball. wtf do you expect middlebrooks to do. he dove for a ball landed on the ground and the stupid fucking runner stumbled over him. thats baseball it happens. that was clearly not interference, anyone that thinks so needs to get their brain examined. the guy was in the process of making a play. there was NO intentional motive to obstruct. guy was flat on his belly. get the hell out of here with that shit. i play wiffleball and seen worse than that. dude was just trying to make a play. no intention WHATSOEVER to obstruct.

This is kinda ironic.

After hearing the Umps press conference I believe the correct call was made. Still sucks to lose a WS game in that manner.

Carry on.

Because Will Middlebrooks was trying to get up, why would he just lift his legs and trip Allen Craig? There's no way it's intentional, especially if he's trying to get up - he probably doesn't have any time to think about intentionally tripping a guy when it's a fast paced situation like that, the only thing he's thinking about doing is getting up, which it was obvious that's why he was trying to do

Sorry - to me it looked intentional. The only thing he lifted were his legs and he lifted those when he saw the ball go rolling away and he saw that Craig was taking off for home.

In my opinion, he saw that and intentionally lifted his legs gambling that the umpire wouldn't call obstruction and actually I think he was gambling that Craig wouldn't try for hime after getting tripped. He would just head back to 3rd.

Middlebrooks just lifted his legs. Go lie down and try getting up just lifting your legs. You need to do the push up action first and then get your legs under you.

Just my 2 cents...

Answer the question. When you're laying flat on your stomach is that how you get up ? By raising your feet and lower legs straight in the air ? htf is that a move you make when you're "trying to get up ? This oughta be good. He saw the ball headed towards the OF, figured Craig was going to score and thought "we've gotta get tangled up somehow to slow him down". Now that's a guess but until you can explain that raising of his feet straight in the air move, it sounds like the most reasonable one to me.

his intent doesnt matter, he prevented the runner from advancing, bad way to lose a game, but that is the rule

I have been meaning to ask you a question. One day, I think it was last weekend on a food thread, you said you were eating shrimp and cabbage. I have never heard of that as a food combo. Was it mixed together or how exactly?

THE RULES
ARE
FUCKING
STUPID
THEN

Tough shit

My advice to you, is to curl up with the MLB rule book and conduct a thorough review, in case there are any more "fucking stupid" rules that might, at some point in the future, not sit well with you. If you find enough infractions, you can then throw the book in the trash and make the conscientious decision to stop following baseball.

He was obstructed. But to hear the ump say he called it because the runner was on the chalk line trying to head home was pathetic.

Split second decision to try to tie him up or lose the game for sure. Pretty simple really. It doesn't exactly call for a task force of rocket scientists.

I mean, one time I pretended the catcher overthrew me at second base on a steal. The runner took off for third and we got an easy out. Maybe preventing the runner from running isn't something he had time to think about though. Well never know for sure. But it doesn't matter. Maybe the rule should be changed, maybe it shouldn't. I'm probably biased for thinking the rule makes sense.
