the guy was flat on his stomach trying to make the play to get him out. what should he have done? dug a 6 foot hole after the ball gets by him so the running can run free? the sox nailed two guys OUT. they were robbed. that was epic bullshit.
Exactly the rules in baseball are dumb if it's not intentional then it shouldn't be obstruction - you have to give Will Middlebrooks a chance there - there was absolutely nothing he could do there - couldn't Allen Craig have possibly went to the right of him so that he couldn't trip over? You could actually make the argument that Allen Craig possibly didn't give Will Middlebrooks the right of way either

Intent does not matter....Middlebrook blocked the path to the next base. His legs were not flat on the ground - which made it more obvious. Sorry Sox fans - check the rule book.

Correct call. The run would've scored if not for middlebrooks legs.

That's obstruction.

The fact that Red Sox fans are whining about it only makes it sweeter. :suds:

You gotta be a big Red Sox homer to think that was not obstruction. He lifted his legs for no reason other to trip the runner. So obvious.

so i guess the guy should just let the ball pass him and stand on third and let the runner have a clear path to home? what a load of crap.

hey briz....go to bed or go cry to your mommy. Sorry the rest of the world doesn't care about your cries.

The call was correct. The rule has been there for years. They aren't changing it just for you.

How about the catcher not making a terrible throw to 3rd base for the second straight game?

And yes, he has to let the guy go by him without intentionally tripping him and intentionally trying to cheat.

The dumbest part of the rule is the base runner knows that all he has to do is fall over the fielder and he gets the call without any hesitation - that rule is such a one-way street type of call - the fielder should have at least an equal chance to get up

Allen Craig didn't have to run directly in the base path once he got up after sliding - he could have went to the right side of the bag and it would have been legal and not out of the base paths

You mad cause the Tigers are not in the WS?

Take your pathetic troll effort elsewhere.

Great point. Still sucks for us Boston fans.

The fielder didn't try and get up and accidentally trip him. He laid on the ground and LIFTED HIS LEGS TO TRIP THE RUNNER. Are you retarded?

Did you see his upper body? His upper body was actually going down in the process

Maybe you're the one who's retarded, thinking he did it intentionally - being a Cubs fan you'd probably know one when you see one
