The NCAA list alabama for 20 we claim 15
NCAA lists Alabama for 13
Alabama claims 20
The NCAA list alabama for 20 we claim 15
NCAA claims 13 for Bama....
FBS Football | NCAA.com
And 7 for Oklahoma if I'm reading this correctly....
Have Notre Dame down for 13, we claim 11.
Classic example of why Auburn has been a joke. Most other schools would not claim some "under consideration". Schools only claim titles that the NCAA lists.
it is not so much the # of times the bama claims a natty that is the source of controversy......
but their decision to flip back & forth between claiming national championships awarded before & after a bowl game.
1964 claimed on a pre bowl game poll
1965 claimed on a post bowl game poll
1973 claimed on a pre bowl game poll
1978 claimed on a post bowl game poll
You are stupid, the reason for the pre and post bowl games is because that is when the final polls for the ones were done. Back then, they didn't do polls after bowl games, so how the fuck could anyone claim one for post bowl games?
Bowl games were considered exhibition games and didn't count.
The AP started doing post bowl in the early 60's, and the Coaches Poll in the early 70's.
Learn some history dumbass.
yeah and that is the point ==> alabama shows literally no consistency with how they award NCs. they just say "well it is the AP & coaches......that means they are 100%" and they just shut up right after that because none of them want to admit how bullshit it is that they decide a bowl win counts only when it benefits alabama.
Funny tidbit, the NCAA doesn't recognize the BCS national champion.
I looked at that then I looked at 2 other NCAA sources which gave different results...I think the link you show is those that are most recognized. In fact, CFDW used to only list the 7 NC OU claimed but now lists 23 for the Sooners.
Yeah, it's Alabama's fault that those polls changed when they did their final poll.
I guess if you can't win one legitimately on the field, you might as well claim a fake one because some other team claims a title that Chuck Jones at the Waffle House in Tuscaloosa, AL said they were the best team that year.
I think the NCAA changed something (since it's arbitrary anyway) because they used to list more. The website page is new.
NCAA doesn't officially recognize any FBS football championships, hence Auburn being able to claim one any year they want.
The NCAA lists 16 for OU, they claim 7.
