Power is the last thing to go for an aging player. Granderson might be long in the tooth and a shell of his former self, but if you hang one like that, he can still hit it a mile.
No doubt. We shouldn't be hanging pitches out over the plate for him. I don't get it. It seems like we have gone through 20 relievers and only 1 or 2 are getting the job done.

Mark Melancon named the closer.

Luke Jackson and Sean Newcomb are warming up.

Makes sense.
It’s just for this inning and not the 9th. Doubt they’d run melancon out their in the 8th and 9th. Just based on there history.

They did a few times with Jackson tho..

Who said it was the coaching? I'm with you. This shit is inexplicable.

JP Arencibia. I remember when he was supposed to be the next Pudge Rodriguez.

33 years old and he's a radio announcer for the Marlins.

When we paired Craig Kimbrel in a trade with BJ Upton and greatly diminished the return we could have got had we traded Kimbrel by himself, we cursed ourselves to forever have a shitty bullpen no matter who we bring in.

I wouldn't put the blame on Kranitz for the bullpen issues.

Our rotation other than the revolving door in the 5 hole has been pretty solid all season.

I don't know who the bullpen coach is, but he's awfully suspect.

Marty Reed is the bullpen coach. I'm looking in his direction.

Does the bullpen coach actually do anything though? I always figured the pitching coach managed all the pitchers

And right on cue, another run given up

I don't know what the role for a BP coach is, but I can't put the blame on Kranitz.

Soroka and Fried are having breakout seasons.

Julio is pitching the best he has in a long time.

Despite my bitching last night, Keuchel has been solid for the most part.

If Kranitz was the issue, I'd think it would show in the rotation as well. Now that Folty is back and looking closer to himself, I actually really like our rotation.

Mets Bullpen got A LOT better when they fired their Bullpen Coach
Braves bullpen was also playing well above their talent earlier this season. Can’t have it both ways

And what aggravates me the most is Jacob Webb was one of the few relievers we have seen this season that I liked, and when he comes off the DL, he gets optioned to AAA, and we have a 9 man bullpen, and he's not one of them.

Agreed on all points. I always assumed the BP coach literally sat on their ass in the BP until the phone rang and then watched the pitchers warm up
