Really impressed with Newk today. Didnt have any control and still gave us 6 scoreless giving up 1 hit, thats what Aces do.

Just got home from Mothers Day festivities.

I got to somewhat keep up on the tv in the background, and on the radio on the ride home.

Newcomb found a way to get the job done when his control was off. He's on an impressive run. When he pitched a gem against the Mets despite his out pitch not working at all, I knew he was a far more mature pitcher than he was last year.

On a game like this last season, he would have imploded.

And on another note, deGrom walked the first 3 Phillies batters of the game, but then got out of it. Makes me uneasy, but we really need to be pulling for the Mets today.

I like Viz and Minter...but I would like to give Winkler a shot at closer. I know he doesnt have the strongest arm but he is good, real good.

He and Carle are the two that I'm not worried about coming in and walking the yard. When Minter and Viz are on, they can be unhittable, but if they're off, you're just begging for them to throw a strike.
