I wouldn't be so mad if it had been Suzuki, because he's productive with the bat and generally a good defensive catcher, but when leaches and wastes of a roster spot fuck up, it really drives me crazy.

Wisler didn't help himself either, but I guess Perez had too much fucking time to think about tagging the runner that was 20 feet away when he got the ball.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the base umpires never ring up a hitter on a check swing anymore? Seems like it used to be they always called it a strike, now it seems like it's called a no swing every time.

They get word to lighten up to help out offense? Are batters better at stopping their swing than they used to be? Or am I just paranoid?

If he goes 0-5 with 5 strikeouts, I ain't mad, but a play like that, I don't care who decided you're on the team, you don't miss a tag like that.

It's hard to nail a runner at the plate, doesn't happen too much over the course of a season. We had the runner dead to rights, Perez had the ball so far ahead of the runner, I wouldn't have been surprised if the runner tried to go back to third and get in a run down, but somehow, Perez gives the runner enough room to slide under a chest high tag attempt.

I like Flowers but even when he comes back Zuk should be our primary catcher.
