Nolasco to LAD. Norris to an AL East team. Garza stays put.

Garza goes to the AL.

Out of the blue, Ryan Dempster ends up back in the NL.

Who will get Ricky Nolasco, Bud Norris, and Matt Garza?

The only way I want nolasco is if Stanton is attached. Otherwise, if the cost isn't too high, of the three I'd take garza on the rangers.

I'm having a hard time figuring out why the Rangers would want Nolasco. I agree with Romeo, they'd be better off pursuing Garza. I also hope they give this kid Perez a bit of a leash.

Perez will get plenty of opportunity. They've got three rookies in the rotation now and the only injured starter I'm confident in returning is ogando, so even with acquiring garza or another starter he still has a spot.

The Cubs got something for Marmol! :yahoo: Worth the risk for the Dodgers, but still!

Eh, not really. Just another pathetic move to add somebody by the dodgers.

Marmol was actually very good to in the end of 2012 when we put him back in the closer role. Unfortunately whatever he did right before he isn't doing now.

Is it possible the Dodgers could get Garza? Along with some sort of trade-off involving Ethier and Soriano? Something to keep an eye on...

I wouldn't put anything past the dodgers. I'm hoping the rangers land garza.

That along with their current winning would solidify them as NL West favorites going into the break. Here are some rumors and the teams who scouted his last start. One of them was the Padres so take that with a grain of salt.

Also, the Giants got Jeff Francouer. I'm not sure what he'll produce but you'll never hear anyone say they hate the guy.

I'd love to see Garza go to the Rangers as well. Soriano's bat might not be too shabby for the second half either, finances notwithstanding.

Things are starting to shake out and picturea becoming clearer. Is anyone else excited to see what will transpire before the trade deadline. Is your team buying, selling or both? Or playing a pat hand and hoping for the best?

Tigers are clearly buyers.. specifically seeking one or 2 strong middle reliever(s) to bridge the gap between the starters and Smyly/Benoit.

Smyly is one of those guys I'm really high on, think he's going to be a really good SP.

That kid is a good pitcher, and he.s been very versatile wherever needed. I think he would be a good starter too, but he probably has more value wearing different hats-- if the Tigers find someone who can do what he does in the pen, then yes, I'd make DS a SP, and with a quickness.
