Yankees will be buying but should be selling, they could/should move Cano, Granderson, Hughes, and Joba.

If not, give each of them 1 year/16 million qualifying offers this winter and collect more compensatory picks in next years draft if/when they sign elsewhere.

problem is I bet that Joba and Hughes sign that $16M contract and then what? cano will be back, and Granderson might walk and net a pick.

I can see Joba taking 16MM a year, maybe Phyllis too.

Cashman should tie the two of them to Cano in a deal, then someone would take them.

Just wondering, why on earth would anyone give up anything of value for Joba and Hughes?

I think my Pirates will be minor buyers.

Targeting a league avg rfers like Schierholtz.

Keep the horde of high ceiling prospects we have accumulated, the last thing I want to see is the Pirates tell the Marlins to pick 4 for Stanton.

Your team is in a very enviable position.

Funny/odd how Volquez and Josh Hamilton were once traded for each other.

Now, the teams they play for would probably like to trade them. However, neither would garner as much in return as when they were swapped for each other.

6 years can REALLY be a long time, and, how the once mighty have fallen since......

I don't think the Reds are going to be buyers even though they should go after someone. They need a bat bad and I'm not sure Heisey or Ludwick are the answer. Cozart is young and shows signs of decent power but will probably always be a .260 hitter so as a 7-8 hitter he will be a good hitter but not as a #2 guy, it seems like teams have figured Frazier out, he just isn't the same guy he was last year right now. Hannigan is a bum, hitting .189., the platoon in LF isn't that good, but hopefully when Ludwick comes back he can fix that, though I'm not sure.

They do have some prospects we will probably see down the stretch. Billy Hamilton is the most likely one. The speed demon will probably be brought up later in the year on the 40 man roster. He looks to be the future CF. The Reds also have a lot of arms in minor leagues. Cingrani is obviously the biggest name since he has been in the big leagues already and looked good. They also have Robert Stephenson, Daniel Corcino, Nicholas Travieso, Kyle Lotzkar and Sal Romano.

So apparently Joba/Huges are attracting no attention, one exec said nobody is giving up anything worthwhile for either one.

Marlins are pushing Nolasco hard on the trade market. He has some quality stuff for a team looking for short term depth in their rotation.

Someone has mentioned nolasco for the rangers. I say no thank you.

Phil Hughes is a stretch. Joba is zero-talent trailer-trash cancer for any team.

Marlins Park full of scouts watching Ricky Nolasco. Who ends up getting him?

I would like to see the Twins try and move Morneau and Willingham but it seems unlikely they could get anything of value for them so they will probably hold onto them. I don't expect much in the way of trades made by the Twins.

If Willingham could hit .250 I'd like for the rangers to get him. Same for Morneau if he could find his power again.

I think playing with the Rangers would allow him to see some better pitches and he could hit .250.

Willingham straight up for Rougned Odor?

i take it you really want those two gone if you are willing to deal Cano
