Would you rather the B's acquire Tomas Kaberle or Brad Richards?

Discuss... Or bring up some other names that are available. Now that we have $4.007 mill freed up.

Brad Richards to the North End for Mark Stuart, Blake Wheeler, a first-round draft pick and/or a prospect.

I think that's a pretty high price for Richards JMO

It is a high price, but he would be a crucial addition to our playoff success.

And its def something we need to replace this season if we have hopes of making it to the cup finals. Like that article says, we have the goaltending and defense needed. We just need that spark up front.

I understand that, but 2 players, 1st round pick AND a prospect? It's time to haggle.

I'd still do it if we could re-sign him. I'm not expecting much from our own first round pick. Or maybe they'd take Joe Colborne instead. It's tricky because we don't know if Savvy is going to come back next year or what. Six more years on his contract. It's like a Greek tragedy.

Bruins (among others) have been trying to pry Kaberle from Burke since he took over. He'd be huge. There's a shortage of puck moving defensemen out there, and we are one of the have-nots. Chara is great, but no one's gonna confuse him with Bobby Orr. Having a defenseman that could carry the puck through the neutral zone would instantly upgrade the entire offense. I'd give up a lot for him.

Rumors are only rumors, but you've got my hopes up, Jeff.

Of the two players listed I'd rather have Richards. However I think Boston will end up with somebody else. Kaberle hasn't waived his no trade clause when asked before by Burke. There really isn't any reason to believe he will do so now.

Richards is quite possibly the most underrated player in the NHL. If that's all the Bruins have to give up to acquire him there are so many teams that will be kicking themselves, especially the Rangers.

Bryan McCabe would be a nice pickup for the blueline. Mike Fisher or Brad Boyes would be good additions at forward.

I don't see Richards moving prior to the trade deadline, Bruins would have to give up too much for a him, probably give up a lot for Kaberle as well. Other D man that might interest the B's would be Eric Brewer, Chris Phillips, Joe Corvo and maybe Joni Pitkanen. The latter names seems more realistic as far as being able to "afford" the acquisition on the blue line.

Did Yoda take over Chris' keyboard part way through his post?!?

Brad Richards would be a great addition to the B's...I think that's a pretty good package going the other way, but does Nieuwy want to part with Richards?!?
