Twice today I heard Chris Young reference Josh Smith playing outfield without being asked about it. He thinks they can get him in the lineup 5 or 6 games a week.

From Pitching Coach "U":

Free agent, @kylecody10 with a great pen for a few teams yesterday.

CH 86-88

Kyle has re-established his slot and arsenal this off-season, ready for the next opportunity!

Has regained carry on his fastball and has really found consistency with both breaking balls.

I wonder what Tread Athletics could do for Kyle Cody. That have certainly done wonders for others, including our own(at the time), Cole Ragans.

I just can’t believe that mlb seeing what the dodgers are doing is bad for baseball.
as far as MLB is concerned the Dodgers aren't breaking the rules. nothing says they can't do what they're doing all it says is that if they exceed certain lines they have to pay, and the Dodgers owners are willing to pay whatever it takes to build their team. most owners aren't willing to go the extra mile and so the Dodgers are stomping the dog---- out of them.

They would have the money if they would trade a starting pitcher. The idea the front office has is that you spend the big bucks on starting pitchers and get your closer and set up man on the cheap.

To me, that is a very bad strategy. It almost cost us dearly in 2023. It did have a huge cost that year in that we had to go after Chapman and overpay for him.

I guess Vlad Jr. will be a Dodger in less than a year.

From Jeff Passan:

When Tanner Scott’s deal is made official, the Dodgers’ luxury-tax payroll for 2025 will exceed $375 million. That is about $70 million more than the next-highest team, Philadelphia. The Yankees are the only other team with a CBT payroll projected to be over $300 million.

Back when the A’s were winning World Series, the owner tried to trade all their star players. MLB put a stop to it and nixed all their star players trades. If they wanted to they could put a stop to what the dodgers are doing now.
