Certainly has some work to do. I think he has much more potential than Williams. I would never expect Butler to be a #1 in this league, but a cheap #2 with some big play ability works for me.
The good thing is with Beasley in the mix we don't need a top player starting opposite Dez because Beasley fills that role out of the slot

I'd be completely happy with a skill group consisting of Elliott, Morris, Witten, Dez, Beasley, Butler, ABC, XYZ

Have Dak and Dez work on their chemistry this off season (showed improvement as season went on). If Dak can develop the same level of confidence in Dez that Romo has/had, then we are good to go.

Defense, defense, defense and Witten's replacement..

I'm definitely looking for pass rush and secondary help in the first round. Beyond that, BPA with a slant towards defense for me. I would like to see a TE and an OT somewhere in there.

If I could find Free's replacement in round 1, I would do it. Then Dallas could cut Free and save $5mil.

This roster is close as-is.

How awesome would it be if they could flip Romo into another 1st rounder by eating some of his contract? I know it's a stretch but could give them the ability to get one of the best corners in the draft as well as an OT.

Agreed. They are a few roster tweakings and coaching mentorings away from winning..

I would prefer them to just give Romo his job back. JMO

Just hearing Aikman talk yesterday. He said The Atlanta offense is a lot different beast than the Cowboys- so much more explosive.

He's not wrong.

Dallas has a lot of things going for it, but the Atlanta offense this year was among the best the NFL has ever seen.

That's true but Romo wouldn't have made that any different.

I should let you know that some people on here think I'm just an agenda guy. They will say you walked into my trap by biting on Romo. We should just end it here because that's not my intentions. I will be the fan that will always think What if Romo played.

I think he holds the offense back. We all know what happens when tony is the QB in must win games.

They lose.

I know this- with 1:30 left on the clock and 1 timeout vs that secondary- we wouldn't have been kicking a 52 yard FG to tie. That game ends with a TD or pick.

I hear ya. And neither of can prove what would have happened.

I just know Romo carries a 2-4 record in the playoffs and proved plenty of times during that stretch and must win week 17 games he has no business on the big stage.

He's just another Andy Dalton and Carson Palmer.

Considering the way that game was called I don't put any faith in that statement above.

You think they are spiking the ball with Romo ?? Oh and I would say Dez would have gotten his hands on a couple.

...that would sure cut down on ref work load too.

.....Kind of an odd point to make since Romo was not playing and yet here were are in a draft thread during the playoffs.
