Tomlin is such an arrogant fuck. Asked at his presser today "Are you concerned or question the direction the defense is going right now"?

"No because he's Dick Lebeau.....any other questions"

Well Tomlin you might want to rethink that since your D just gave up 55pts and 611 yards. What a total douchebag.

:omg: an arrogant coach he should be fired just for that

Rhetorical questions alert... Can you really blame him? Why would he want to show any sort of distrust to the media? ESPECIALLY at this point in time when the roof looks like its about to cave in? It's a gaurantee that ANY problems within that franchise WILL be 'solved' IN HOUSE, like they always have been!

That being said, I would also like to say that I would have said the same thing. Lebeau isn't a HOF-er by accident. I would trust Lebeau of all people to be able to right that ship, even though he has had a few bad games. I'll agree that his system has clear problems, ones that may or may not have quick remedies. But I'm not going to point a finger at him when the problem is the result of multiple different areas. Tomlin is smart enough to know that.

On that note... Tomlin is far from an "arrogant fuck".
For him to say that he's not worried about the D is stupid and dumb. Especially what just happened. The best thing he could have said (showing that you more than care) is that he was definitely concerned and we'll be working on that over the coming weeks in practice. The fans want to hear he's concerned, not that he isn't.

I'm not saying Lebeau is the problem. You work with what you have. What they have is old and slow players. Pitt. fans always say "If Troy was healthy......" Well he has been the healthiest in years and he's been getting torched. Ryan Clark has lost it and can barely cover anyone. It's both the pass and run D that's bad.

Tomlin giving "the stare" and acting like nothing is wrong when asked about the D "is being" an arrogant fuck.

They had a horrible game but even after that, Pittsburgh is still the 3rd best defense against the pass in the league. The run defense is the biggest problem. As far as Tomlin saying what he did..........big deal?

Pittsburgh needs to get back to old school shit..... ya know like back in the day when Rooney said, "I make football players, not millionaires!"

Fuck giving all this money to guys who after a year or two cant tow the line!!! I mean shit, I remember watching some great players get sent down the road for wanting to be rich instead of remembered!!! If we can let guys like Rod Woodson, Greg Llyod, and Hines Ward to name a few, go.....WTF makes any of these other guys any more special???? Trade them, get some draft picks.... do something. Just quit paying these guys all this damn money for 4 and 5 years when they only have maybe 2 good years left in them..... and hell right now 60% of the D is past this and need to go!!!!

lol Both teams have issues. I think Pitt is easily the worst of the 2 right now but this bullshit of letting Cincy and Cleveland camp out on top of the division needs to stop asap!

Truly is bullshit for the Clowns to be in second place.
As far as who's worse, at least we haven't fallen from Super Bowl winner, to chicken dinner.

Start with Dick LeBeau. Our defense is horrible and it's on him.

Please, LeBeau is a great defensive coach. The players he has to work with are either older than dirt or greener than grass, that's the real problem.

Too late...unfortunately TV HAS made the players millionaires...the salary cap has a healthy floor now, so you either play by these new rules or you don't play.

I get your point on paying guys late in their prime...a lot of guys should have been released after the loss to GB...Smith, Ward, JH, Kesiel, Hampton, Clark, even Troy...they all had something left, but 2 or 3 years was it like you say...the last couple of years they were going to be way over paid.

Admittedly I didn't see it coming this quick, but PIT was doomed to suck at some point transitioning from 15+ guys that played on 2 SBs teams and few played on 3.

So here we are...we suck now...the big question is can Tomlin/Colbert can rebuild it?

He his a great coach, but this guy has spent countless hours developing this zone blitz DEF which is really based on deception so it take the players a long time to learn all the nooks and crannies of it...secondly, and you touched on it...the players, they do not fit the scheme upfront, and they are green in many areas.

Can he fix it, yes, but the team needs to rebuild on OFC as well, so this is not a 14-2 team next season...at 77 y/o, do you really want to start over? Not fair to Tomlin, or Lebeau imo.

Joey Porter and Jason Gildon too. They used to very good at letting guys go a year too early, and not a year or years too late.

I know Lebeau has been great in the past, but it is possible he just doesn't have it anymore, and is personally less than effective as a coach.

His complicated blitz packages don't get to the QB anymore.
