That's it.

Last week we gave up the longest run by a QB in history to a QB that no one will remember in a few years.

A couple years ago we gave up the first OT TD by the new rules ever to Tim "Not even in the NFL" Tebow.

Today we gave up 55 points - most in franchise history.

Big Ben doesn't care about protecting the ball.

The defense couldn't stop a nose bleed at this point - nor do they care to.

The special teams is horrible but in their defense they always have been.

Sit Big Ben and everyone else that's a starter. What? Like they're going to play worse then the 1st string guys? Our BEST guys gave us 2-6. Time to give the guys behind them the start.

And start firing coaches while we're at it.

*I can't believe I'm going to say this.....*

Start with Dick LeBeau. Our defense is horrible and it's on him.

Then fire the OC.

At this point we start laying up for the draft. This season is over.

I would have to agree 100%! Time to clean house! The Steelers of old just aren't bleeding into this team enough. Time for a change.

Asking honestly, what do you have to gain by firing people at this point?

IMO, Mike Tomlin is a guy you sign to a lifetime contract.

I am positively giddy over the possibility, however remote it may be, that you guys fire him and the Titans sign him to a 5-yr deal. :hope:

Seriously?

Absolutely. This team has shown next to nothing in player development since his players started filling up the roster. He is one of the worst examples of in-game leadership I've ever seen, the lack of situational awareness is appalling. This is a far cry from the team he inherited, all signs point downwards with him. I hope the Rooney's start fresh on the front office and coaching staff this winter

Its sad to see, but you can't stay great forever I guess. You have to come back to earth eventually. Its that time for the Steelers. Going to take them some time to right the ship.

The roster is too old and they have to get younger on both sides of the ball, but firing Mike Tomlin doesn't solve the issue - he's a darn good head coach and he's the type of guy you build your team with

Its already been pointed out in this thread, but I'll say it again, He is no good at player development. He walked into a team full of stud players in their primes. He's been riding them, and now he hasn't been able to add talent to the field. Its plain to see, and something has to be done. Honestly, has he developed one elite player yet?

you get rid of Mike Tomlin would be stupid. I would hope the Cowboys would be 1st in line with check book to sign him!

Several years of terrible drafts have caused this. It can take a long time to pull out of this kind of failure.

He really isn't that good of a coach. He was a beneficiary of the Rooney rule and a stacked Steeler roster that, to his credit, he was able to keep the mojo going for 2 more SB's, one win. But poor drafting/development, along with the "kick the can" approach towards the cap, has finally caught up with the team. Watch a few Steeler games and you'll see a team that never comes out of the gate with any fire, a team prone to mistakes and a coach that has no clue how to go about clock management and situational football. The roster no longer has any real leadership being cultivated, and there's certainly seems to be no direction towards success by the team.

Pittsburgh is 4-11 in their last 15 games.

I can understand that, as a fan of another team looking in, his platitude-speaking ways and aviators make him seem like the perfect coach to have around, but don't be fooled; there's not much substance there, as far as an NFL head coach is concerned.

I don't think you fire a guy for one losing season in 7 years.

Tomlin isn't the issue. an old depleted roster is the problem, time to clean house on the roster, not the coaching staff.

It looks like there is no leadership in the Steelers team this year. You have players making good plays independently but there is no unifying factor or will to win. Not sure it's about cleaning house, more like putting what is already there on the same page and obviously some personnel decisions are necessary. Seems more like a GM / coaching problem.

Hey Eagle fan, take it from the guy who follows the team closely: yes, Tomlin is a huge part of the problem.
