Future Flyer Cup-Winner
The Rangers host the Flyers in an Atlantic Division battle tonight. The Flyers finally reached .500 for the first time this season on Saturday, beating the Sens 3-2. The Rangers needed the shootout to down the Sabres on Sunday, but prevailed to come within a point of the playoff race. The winner tonight will be in eighth in the East; the Flyers would actually tie New Jersey for 7th but lose by virtue of more games played. It's always a tough fight between these rivals, even if you can't see it because MSG has shitty lighting.
Flyers injuries: Meszaros, Read, McGinn, Shelley. I'm not sure if Gustafsson is in (he's day to day) and Harry Z is suspended for game one of four. It looks like we called up Wellwood. We are starting Bryz because he's the only thing keeping us in games.
Rangers injuries: Gilroy might still be sick, Asham hasn't played a game in a few weeks. Lundqvist is starting because John Tortorella can go fuck himself.
Flyers need this one. The winner of this game will have won three straight, which the Flyers haven't done and the Rangers haven't exceeded so far this year. Also important is that the Flyers need to win to force other teams to win their games in hand to keep up with us. If you go by points per game, the Flyers are actually tied with Winnipeg for 9th in the conference, so we aren't really in the playoffs and need to get the win over other bubble teams like the Rangers. Finally New York has been playing very well at home and we can't afford to drop road games.
Hit 'em hard, early, and often, Philly. Let's kick some ass and LET'S GO FLYERS!
