No update on Staal, but I did read that he never went to the hospital, which is a positive. However, I'd still think he'd go to get a full work up (MRIs and all), but it's just a report anyhow.

i've kinda moved past being annoyed that the NHL doesn't mandate visors.. if you're dumb enough not to wear a visors these days, you pretty much deserve to get hit in the face w/ a puck and i dont really feel bad for you

(not wishing ill on staal, hope the dude recovers, and i hope everyone that gets hit in the face recovers, just saying they're fools for not wearing visors.. it just shouldn't need to be mandated)

I pretty much agree. The NHL doesn't have to hold your hand about this...grown men, make a decision. What makes guys take them off? I know the older guys may have grown up when it wasn't mandatory in lower levels, but the younger guys? You wore a cage, then a visor, so you can't tell me you can't adapt to wearing one. Eye injuries are career enders...and I don't think players get that. Breaking your nose, jaw, teeth, cheeks, etc. you can come back from, but eye injuries END it.
