Big 12 rakes in record $268 million, lags behind SEC
The Big 12 reported a record $268 million incoming during the 2014-15 fiscal year, according to tax filings obtained by USA Today. That $40 million jump came in large part due to a large spike in bowl revenue created by the College Football Playoff — $32 million, to be exact — and an $8 million jump in television revenue.

Those figures, $26.8 million per school (before expenses and the league office’s cut), do not include third-tier television rights such as the Texas’ deal for the Longhorn Network.

The SEC, meanwhile, reported $527 million in total revenue — an average of more than $37 million per school.

Jayhawk WRs coach Klint Kubiak leaving to work for father in NFL
Tuesday, the Denver Broncos confirmed reports that Kubiak had decided to leave his post as Kansas’ wide receivers coach to take a job with the organization. The Super Bowl champions are coached, of course, by Gary Kubiak, who’s also the father of Klint Kubiak.

Kubiak spent just one season on David Beaty‘s KU coaching staff. Prior to that, he was on staffs with the Minnesota Vikings (2013-14) and at Texas A&M (2011-12).

Dameyune Craig throws Short Bus Gus under the short bus.

"Getting a chance to work with coach Miles is definitely not a lateral move."

Report: Virginia Tech fills CB coach vacancy with WVU's Brian Mitchell
Mitchell will join Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente and work under defensive coordinator Bud Foster, who is one key holdover from Tech’s former staff under Frank Beamer. This will be the first time Mitchell has worked with either Fuente or Foster. He will replace former cornerbacks coach Torrian Gray, who has moved to take on the same role at Florida after it appeared Fuente had his first Virginia Tech staff all glued together. Now it will be West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen looking to fill a vacancy on his staff with little time to spare before opening spring football practices in Morgantown. This is especially crucial because the Mountaineers are losing some fixtures in their defensive secondary, including safeties Karl Joseph and K.J. Dillon.

I'm the original troll of all things LHN but have to admit I'm even sick of it. Everything has been proven:

A. It only makes sense for Texas and ESPN loses its shirt.
B. The other members of the Big 12 are always going to resent it.

Programming sucks for all these type channels unless it's live sports or classic game replays. The SEC Network was playing some of Peyton and Cam's greatest games right before the Super Bowl and that was kind of cool.

Oh great they will play an out of state SEC but won't play the one 90 miles away.

They know Ole Miss is going to be knee deep in sanctions come 2020.

WR Ben Lewis one of two no longer on Syracuse's roster
The football program released an updated roster Friday, and redshirt senior wide receiverBen Lewis and redshirt junior offensive lineman Alex Hayes weren’t on it. According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Hayes was dismissed by new head coach Dino Babersfrom the football program for violating unspecified team rules, while Lewis simply decided to leave the team.

The latter would be a graduate transfer and eligible to play immediately in 2016 if he were to land at another FBS school.
