Amba Etta-Tawo takes to Twitter to announce Terps transfer

In a missive posted to his personal Twitter account Tuesday, Amba Etta-Tawo announced that he has decided to leave Maryland and transfer out of the Terrapins football program. “For my remaining season my family and I have decided to explore graduate transfer opportunities,” a portion of the wide receiver’s missive read.

Oregon State’s leading tackler transfers to Ole Miss

On Twitter late Wednesday morning, Ole Miss assistant offensive line coach Ben Aigamaua tweeted out a welcome to erstwhile OSU linebacker Rommel Mageo. A short time later, a school official confirmed that Mageo had indeed transferred from the Beavers to the Rebels.

Mageo is a graduate transfer, so you know the deal as it pertains to his 2016 eligibility.

WR D.J. Neal confirms departure from Gamecocks

As speculation percolated regarding his future with the Gamecocks, D.J. Neal retweeted the well-wishes of followers on his personal Twitter account throughout Tuesday evening. The receiver subsequently confirmed to The State newspaper of Columbiathat he has indeed decided to part ways with the Gamecocks.

Neal declined to go into the particulars of his decision.

Backup QB Cade Apsay one of two dismissed by Buffs

On the eve of the start of spring practice, head coach Mike MacIntyre announced that sophomore quarterback Cade Apsay, along with junior safety Evan White, have beendismissed from his football program. Other than the standard unspecified violations of team rules, no reason for the twin dismissals was given.

Va. Tech makes addition of WVU assistant Brian Mitchell official

In a press release, Tech confirmed thatBrian Mitchell has been hired to serve as Fuente’s cornerbacks coach. Mitchell will replace Torrian Gray, who left for a job at Florida shortly after National Signing Day.

Louisiana-Lafayette vacates 22 wins from 2011-14

Back in January, the NCAA ruled it had found that a former Louisiana-Lafayette assistant had arranged fraudulent ACT exam scores for five Ragin’ Cajun football players, who were subsequently ruled ineligible. As part of their punishment, the university was to determine in which games ineligible players had been used and vacate any of those games that were won.

Reports: Ohio State, Miami, WVU have met with ex-Fla. QB Will Grier

Wednesday afternoon, Mike Casazza of the Charleston Gazette-Mail reported that Grier was on the campus of West Virginia University visiting the football program. A short time later, the Gainesville Sun‘sGraham Hall reported that the erstwhile Florida quarterback has previously “met with plenty [of other schools], including Ohio State and Miami (Fla.).”

OC Cam Cameron reportedly getting extension from LSU

According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, Cameron and the university have reached an agreement on a new three-year contract. The financial terms of the new deal were not divulged, although a raise is likely in the offing in addition to the additional years.

Cameron would’ve been entering the final year of his old deal. In 2015, Cameron’s $1.52 million salary was second in the nation to former Auburn defensive coordinator and new South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp‘s $1.6 million.
