80's except why is Moses, McHale and Isiah listed? I'd replace all three.

The Pippen Barkley show. LOL

Scottie Pippen scores 35 points and adds 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks vs. the Suns. His defense against Barkley was the key to the game. Barkley was taking advantage of the Bulls weak interior

Oh yeah Charles is such a better shooter. :L And dribbler, and perimeter defender... You want Barkley playing the 3 with that quickness??

Waterboys :tsk:

You really aren't the smartest kid in your class, are you?

If you paid attention, or actually knew a damn thing about basketball you would see that the formats those era roster are made up of are the same format the all-star game get picked: three front court players and two back court. Not by traditional position.

By that logic there are a ton of players who would beat pippen; Malone and Barkley being miles ahead of him. Hell, Shawn Kemp would make it before pippen would.

Barkley miles ahead of Pippen? Playing the 3? LMAO

Watch the video at the 5:40 mark where the games changes after Pippen starts guarding Barkley.

I won't post the Pippen dunk on Ewing either.

Yeah he just wasn't that good. Jordan did it all by himself.

Shaq/Duncan is just way too much for Malone/McHale
That leads the 2000s to an easy victory.

Shaq frustrates me more than any other play.
His peak was better than anybody in history. But, he was just too lazy to play peak years. He coasted half-assed on his size and talent alone for 50% of his career. He would be the #1/#1 player of all time if he actually bothered to play hard. But, for this poll, you get the the dominant era Shaq. That is a guy at his best outweighing Moses by 100 lbs.

Duncan is just a better player than McHale. He is the best ever at that position.
McHale is very crafty. That skill might work against a knucklehead player, but Duncan is the least likely to be a victim of fundamentals. It is a bad draw for McHale to play against a boring cerebral Duncan at his peak.

..............

And Magic playing SG is a bad fit. He is better off playing center/PF if he doesnt play PG. He is not a good shooter or perimeter defender. But, Isiaah cannot play any other position. So, Magic gets stuck playing the one position he sucks at playing. Magic can play PG, PF, and C well. He is weak as a wing shooter/slasher.
Kobe actually wins that battle as strange as it sounds to say it.

Isaiah could play SG. But it doesn't matter because both can dish and they would find the open guy. Ball movement with Magic and whoever was never a problem. If Magic can run an offense playing Center, he can do it at SG and not have to shoot.

What some of you don't realize is that all you need on any team is a few scorers. You don't need 5 scorers. Look at the Dream team.. It was balanced scoring, but a few guys every game took over and the others did their job rebounding, defense, whatever.

The 2000s wins easily based on the original poll.
I am not sure why everyone decided to change it to technicalities of when someone was drafted.
Stick with the poll.

The 2000s SHAQ was the most dominant player arguably ever. (sure he was fat and lazy other years but my god nobody was more scary than 2000-2004 shaq).
The 2000s DUNCAN made him the greatest PF of all time,
The 2000s LEBRON was only the 2nd or 1st best SF of all time.
The 2000s KOBE was probably a top 3 all time shooting guard.
The only weakness is Iverson....but he is still faster and more athletic than every other PG from the other decades.

The 2000s win easily.

They have dominant offensive firepower and incredible alltime defensive stoppers as well.
Plus everyone is playing their natural position.
Some of those other teams have laughably bad defensive players....or guys stuck playing the wrong position.

So basically lump everyone in the 90's, if you play that game then of course the 90's win.

PG Payton, Stockton, Thomas
SG MJ, Kobe
SF Pippen, Kemp, Wilkins
PF Malone, Barkley
C Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson

But the problem with this is you have to pick the decade for a lot of these guys like you said: Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, etc.

He certainly scored the most points per game that summer - 18. I don't know if he was the most important player on that team though. It's been almost 25 years. Jordan averaged 15 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 2 boards a game. Hell everyone on that team got some clock - Mullin averaged 13 points a game.

I would much rather have Sir Charles playing PF than SF. If you think Charles could guard Dr. J, Bird, or Lebron then I don't know what to tell some of you. They'd go right by him.
