lel, it wasn't a "security officer". It was a local college kid working security.

Maybe Zeke just needs a get-back coach, amirite?

No question he’s talented. He just is young dumb and full of...

If the 6 years 90M reports are accurate and 35 to 40M are loaded into years 5 and 6 this is a team friendly deal.

yep, that would mean it's ostensibly $13-$14 mill per year during the early years and then if they can get out of it late, no damage done

Cowboys And Elliott "Agree In Principle" On Deal, Press Conference Scheduled Wednesday

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The long-awaited standoff is finally over as the Dallas Cowboys and star running back Ezekiel Elliott have agreed in principle to a deal, according to 105.3 The Fan's Ben Rogers.

Terms of the deal are unknown.

The timing of the deal is important as it allows Elliott to be at the Star for a Wednesday practice and even a press conference, Rogers said on the air Tuesday.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Elliott was returning to Dallas from Cabo San Lucas and Yahoo's Charles Robinson added that Elliott's representation was also on the flight.

He comes in out of shape, thinks he's invincible, and tears up a leg in the first few weeks.

Prove me wrong, Zeke.

yep, where are the guarantees, if this is front loaded, then jerry caved, where are the "outs" for the cowboys

I'm thinking it will be a large signing bonus. Otherwise Zeke won't get the money for another 2 years. Then the cost is spread over the 6 years of the contract evenly. Are there rules against signing bonus size? Could it be a $25M signing bonus?

i dont think there are rules......but it counts on the cap. So essentially Jerry would be front loading and giving him a large portion upfront and guaranteed.....

The first thing they said on the topic was the floor of a deal starts with Gurley. Who knows how high Jerry was willing to go or where Zeke started with his wants. For all we know Jerry would have gone to $18M and won big time or maybe after letting Stephen deal with it for months he panicked and gave in completely to get Zeke here by week 1. I suspect we will never really know for sure.

Finalizing this deal tonight is important to get Zeke into practice tomorrow and ready for week 1. I suspect he is in some kind of a time share week 1. Obviously the Cowboys want to get Pollard touches anyway, but if Morris is still on the team come Sunday and is active I suspect he gets a few carries as well.
