Cowboys And Elliott "Agree In Principle" On Deal, Press Conference Scheduled Wednesday


DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The long-awaited standoff is finally over as the Dallas Cowboys and star running back Ezekiel Elliott have agreed in principle to a deal, according to 105.3 The Fan's Ben Rogers.

Terms of the deal are unknown.

The timing of the deal is important as it allows Elliott to be at the Star for a Wednesday practice and even a press conference, Rogers said on the air Tuesday.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Elliott was returning to Dallas from Cabo San Lucas and Yahoo's Charles Robinson added that Elliott's representation was also on the flight.

I'm thinking it will be a large signing bonus. Otherwise Zeke won't get the money for another 2 years. Then the cost is spread over the 6 years of the contract evenly. Are there rules against signing bonus size? Could it be a $25M signing bonus?

i dont think there are rules......but it counts on the cap. So essentially Jerry would be front loading and giving him a large portion upfront and guaranteed.....

For all we know Jerry would have gone to $18M and won big time or maybe after letting Stephen deal with it for months he panicked and gave in completely to get Zeke here by week 1. Finalizing this deal tonight is important to get Zeke into practice tomorrow and ready for week 1. I suspect he is in some kind of a time share week 1. Obviously the Cowboys want to get Pollard touches anyway, but if Morris is still on the team come Sunday and is active I suspect he gets a few carries as well.
