Did you even read what I wrote? What are you talking about? I think Alaska froze your brain last Winter

"The first thing they said on the topic was the floor of a deal starts with Gurley" This is BS thats why they're initial offers were closer to the Bell contract.

So, who else thinks Zeke is the #1 option, of nonQBs, for MVP?

Cuz I think he is. Dude is gonna destroy defenses.

I'm thinking it will be a large signing bonus. Otherwise Zeke won't get the money for another 2 years. Then the cost is spread over the 6 years of the contract evenly. Are there rules against signing bonus size? Could it be a $25M signing bonus?
It seems like there might be rules against it. Just because nobody does it.

If there isn't a rule, seems like a smart thing to do.

1) Want me to find the quote for you were Stephen/Jerry said that
2) did you read the rest of what I wrote?

The first thing they said on the topic was the floor of a deal starts with Gurley. Who knows how high Jerry was willing to go or where Zeke started with his wants. For all we know Jerry would have gone to $18M and won big time or maybe after letting Stephen deal with it for months he panicked and gave in completely to get Zeke here by week 1. I suspect we will never really know for sure.

from Stephen in February

Jones acknowledged as much back in February, when he said that Gurley’s contract with the Los Angeles Rams provided a guideline for negotiations with Elliott.

“We certainly saw what Gurley got paid, and we know that’s probably where it starts, and we’ll go from there,” he said at the NFL Combine.

Just like no matter the outcome certain Cowboys homers will try to spin this results as a win for the team
And many Cowboy haters will call this "caving" or a loss for Dallas.

You have to remember, it's Dallas. If the RB does great it is because of an "all world OL that anyone could run through". If the OL starts to get credit it will be because they are blocking for an elite RB. and around we will go.

However, when it comes time for that "all world" OL to make the HOF, only one will get in.

So r cowboys fans happy?
Not really, not yet. I want him playing on what he is owed. If this extension does that, then I'm happy. If we can get Byron + Dak+Amari signed as well, then I'm happy.

I forget these things sometimes.

It's like people always saying how Barry had no line, even though he had multiple Pro Bowls and an AllPro and we haven't had another since he quit.

I assume greatness from Zeke this year

Egh, he's not the same level of player.
Had we not given up a 1st rounder for him, he wouldn't have any leverage for a big payday. We need to sign Dak and tag Amari if Gallup doesn't take the expected leap this year.
