Don't worry, Bill OBrien is trying to make everyone forget about Millen. Doing a great job of it, too.
I'll give you one guess on who one of the commentators were during Middle Tennessee and Michigan game was... I'll give you a clue... I wouldn't like your answer. LOL

florio says it may be a 6 year/$90 mill extension. wonder how much of that would be guaranteed?

Billion dollar question. And how much of it is this year?

Very interested to see the numbers. Initial reports said it was a backloaded deal that Dallas was offering.

Considering how Zeke likes to feel like a victim with many years and millions left on the contract, I support backloading it.

Sounds like that was what Zeke's agent was trying to avoid so asking for a front loaded deal. Jerry would be a moron to pay Zeke early just so he can hold out the last 2 years again when the pay had tapered off.
If it's 6 new years the last 3 should be "cuttable" with no dead money so it doesn't really matter what the salaries are in those years. I suspect somewhere in the last 3 years is a base salary that takes the AAV over (maybe way over) Gurley's $14M. All that matters to Dallas is the next two existing (plus the SB pro-ration) and the first 3 "new" years. Heck, I'd make 2026 $20M and really pump that AAV number up if that's what Zeke wants.

I'll always support backloading deals because its team-friendly, and makes the player earn it. But if they spread out heavy bonuses along the early years of it, then it essentially equals out in guarantees.

$30M guaranteed at signing and $42M guaranteed after the beginning of the 2020 league year?

ProFootballTalk reports the Cowboys are close to signing Ezekiel Elliott to a six-year, $90 million extension.
Elliott is back in Dallas after training away from the team. There were reports of a snag in contract talks over the weekend, but all signs now point to a deal getting done. The $15M AAV would tie Elliott with Todd Gurley as the highest paid back in the league and keep him signed through 2026. After holding out the entire preseason, Elliott looks on track to return ahead of Week 1.

Over dramatic much? Zeke as far as I know has never even been accused of hitting a cop has he? And he wasn't proven to have hit his girlfriend. I don't make internet bets but I'm confident he won't do either between now and week 17. I don't think he will lead the league in rushing because he could miss at least one game to start the year and probably won't play week 17 either. But your reasons are dumb ones

You’re right it was just a security officer so no big deal and Zeke obviously hasn’t had any issues with women.

The point is idle time for Zeke is the devils play ground. Probably be best for him if he takes the deal and gets busy, not sit around and hold out. See Boogie Cousins example currently.

lel, it wasn't a "security officer". It was a local college kid working security.

Maybe Zeke just needs a get-back coach, amirite?
