Well thank you sir......And seriously, we have a lot of players who do, and perhaps could/are valuable "utility-positional players" don't we?..............Robinson/Gallo/Rua and potentially DDJ?.....Good thing to have IMO.

I kinda view too much utility as a bad thing. It makes me think we have a bunch of guys who are not capable of solidly locking down set positions.

What you say may very well be true........But the observation/question was about our fan base giving a crap if we won the WC position. And if our fans don't care, then what does it say about the Indians fans?

Well, I kinda took the issue in a different direction. Sports media types want to pin low attendance figures on lack of interest, but in my opinion MLB teams are pricing a sizeable % of their fans out of the stadium... especially families.

To steer it back to the original point - I think Rangers fans will show up in increased numbers if and when the Rangers aren't behind by 3 games.

Of course you do......And I don't want a "bunch of guys" but more a guy or two who can be considered "versatile." And right now I consider Gallo as VERY versatile; which is a VERY good thing IMO. And DDJ could follow suit, if our situation is flexible enough to allow it.

The secret to the game of baseball is pitching/pitching and perhaps a run or two......Sphan & Sain so-to-speak......And this is why I want to hang onto pitching without the wheels off (meaning young).....Guys who are 25-27/28 years old, can blossom and wear it out for years.
