These are the worst strike calls I've ever seen.[/QUOTE

We were sitting almost directly above the plate in the aforementioned section 226, and even from there you could see how poorly the ump was doing. And most of the doing was done at the Rangers expense.

Bring on electronic ball/strikes for me.

Calhoun may be a better defensive player than some had predicted. Time will tell of course, but overall, he did a pretty nice job in left last night.

Gonzalez had a terrific 11 pitch 1st, and then they hit everything hard from then on. Then being all 2.1 innings.

Once we got down 4-0, you could just feel the energy leave the stadium. But we didn't hit the ball hard for squat all night. And yes, the umpiring sucked. But we didn't help ourselves so much either.

Although the game was a drag and we left at the end of the 8th, I did meet an attractive lady working in our section taking food/beverage orders. So all wasn't totally lost. ha ha

This team just can't get into any sort of groove... they are the epitome of a .500 team right. Dominate one night, get their asses kicked the next.

I think you're right on top of it. The rotation is your proof.

instead of bringing in medical rehab starters the Rangers need to be looking at quality long term(more than 1 or 2 years) pitchers but during the off-season we will fill the rotation with more 1 year low level(thus low production) pitchers and we will be facing another long summer of .500 or lower baseball

It will be interesting to see if we can get Ohtani to sign with us, and to me, even more interesting on how we try to develop him.

He could be a #2 start, #3 at worst, so if we got him, resign Cashner, then we'd have Hamels/Othani/Cashner/Perez and ?? How's that sound?

and yet they continue to bring them in: 2017: Cashner and Ross.

Probably because the market for long-term, quality starters is the most competitive one there is (meaning: $$$) and historically shows very little ROI from a team-success standpoint.

Also, Cashner? Really? Dude is our #2 starter right now.

And one of them worked out rather well.

I've got no problem with trying to fill the back-end of the rotation with 2/3 guys with past medical problems. Let the 2-3 of them compete and maybe one separates himself, and we get a #4/5 on the cheap. Perhaps another one goes to AAA as a fall-back position.

not bad not good. The only numbers Cashner has going for him is era, his other numbers are well below average some are worst for a starter. Perez has to depend on his offense to survive and get wins. Out of his last 7 wins i give him credit for 1 maybe 2 of the wins, the other 5 or 6 belong to the team
