Thought it was funny to see this posted on the front page of nfl.com. The most ridiculous part is the Broncos would currently be the #5 seed in the AFC. KC owns the tiebreaker of combined ranking on points scored and points allowed, which is the 8th tiebreaker down the list.

The almighty Denver Broncos would have to go thru Indy & New England just to make it to the title game lol

Slow content day I guess.

Taking a stab at this today...wow.

AFCE - NE
AFCS - IND, initially picked HOU
AFCN - CIN, initially picked PIT & CIN to tie @ 10-6
AFCW - DEN

WC, KC, PIT (a man can dream!)...In all seriousness I wouldn't be surprised if the AFCW put 3 teams in...SD

NFCE - DAL
NFCS - NO
NFCN - GB
NFCW - SEA, initially picked SF

WC, SF & CHI (initially) had SEA & ATL

Far as I got.

Well, the KC - Denver games are still to played so that is the thing to watch as far as the wildcard prediction for AFCW. As was said, a bit early to predict. The halfway mark, two games away, is always a better time to predict playoff scenarios. There have been several surprises so far and probably many more to come.

Agree...8 to 10 games in everyone will have played at least 2 DIV games.

So far of my preseason picks to make the playoffs, PIT and ATL look the most bleak.

There is no way though, unless we are who we want to be and not what we usually become.

Looking at it though...if we can beat the teams that suck this year: PIT, TB, PHI, NYG and MIN that will give us 5 more wins. We will probably get 3 of those. Leaves 5 games that are tough. CIN, DAL, CHI, GB, and BAL. We can probably get 2 of those.

We might be able to get 5 or 6 more wins. 7 would be heaven.

After week 7, the AFC West would currently have 3 playoff teams. So much for the AFC "Worst" nickname. Guess we'll have to go with AFC "Best".

Not sold on Detroit or San Diego making the playoffs yet. KC and Denver should hand SD 4 auto-losses in the regular season alone. Some AFC team has to step up and prevent a third team making it from the West.

As for the Lions they won't win the division. The Packers will take it, they're more consistent.

LOL. Anything could happen but "auto-losses"? I guess SD manhandling the Colts was meaningless in your book. They had one bad game at Oakland but they are 2 plays from being 6-1 and aside from Manning nobody has played better than Rivers this year. These aren't Norv's Chargers. I'm still not sold they'll be a playoff team but they certainly will be part of the talk for the foreseeable future.

I know it was Jax, but a cross country trip on a short week...I thought SD was prime for an upset...to more or less handling them with ease was solid. The AFCW could very well put 3 teams in...the E is only getting 1 both NY & MIA are going to struggle on the road and go 8-8, the N is probably only getting 1 but we'll have to see how far PIT/BAL go, The S is starting to look like IND and nobody else.

I think we'll know a lot more about SD after week 13.

The defense has also gone 10 quarters without allowing a TD, after starting the year horribly. I'm still not convinced they've shaken their schizophrenia. Going to Washington after their bye will be very telling. If they can win that then that home game against Denver is going to look much more competitive than originally thought.
