Here's something I have been wondering for a little while now. I don't read the comics so idk if it's been explored.

Since everyone already has the "zombie" in them and getting bit doesn't make you a zombie..dying does. All getting bit does is make you sick so that you die.

Well, if a zombie bite is just a disease/sickness wouldn't some person somewhere have an immunity to the disease? Will they ever explore the possibly of somebody getting bit but surviving the bite?

Watched one episode...

Not a bad show at all...

It was the one where they were at the church and got jumped by those other knuckle heads...

That is the ONLY good thing about Z-Nation (which I gave up on after ep 3). They had a goal of getting a guy who was immune to some CDC place in California.

Kirkman has said in the past that he has no interest in the cause or cure of the zombification. He just likes dealing with the post-ZA world. So I do not expect them to go down that line in either the comics or show.

Yeah I heard about that but I still think you could formulate a storyline around someone not being affected.

I mean I know this isn't exactly a show built on realism lol but it really doesn't seem plausible that absolutely no one can fight back against the disease.

Maybe there is no science to find out what causes the immunity?

Well eventually somebody will try to come up with a cure for this sometime in the future I hope.

Yeah, I've always been confused by the zombie bite thing as well. I assumed the bites were serious because they usually showed the ones that were ripping out arteries, which are fatal wounds ---> die ---> turn. That theory was shot to shit with Bob, since his bite was minor and he lived with it for weeks/months.

I guess they can use the explanation that zombies are dead and have been decomposing so they immediately toxify your blood, but they haven't explained that that's the case. It would kind of support them amputating Hershel's leg, if they would have gotten it off on time before the blood could circulate farther :noidea:

It would make for a pretty cool storyline, that's for sure.

They were only at the church for a day or two, not "weeks/months".

Alrighty! I was 50-50 on this episode. Was a little bored with Carol's backstory and thought her soul-searching with Daryl was kinda gratuitous, although it appears that it might be a necessary part of the setup for the big payoff in the finale.

What I loved was seeing Atlanta again, and even better: the return of the zombies. It looks like they took a page right out of one of George Romero's movies, and I applaud this move. Even the opening credits with the theme song are reflecting this. It's great to see the zombies be relevant again, and I hope they continue this trend.

More big cities and more of the Living Dead.

I read awhile back that Romero said he would never have anything to do with this show. It's too bad, how awesome would it be for him to direct a few episodes?

Anybody else hoping for a DAYTIME episode?

Last two episodes have been lit by a mason jar of fireflies.

One other thing I forgot to mention:

With his perfectly timed one liners, Daryl has become the Clint Eastwood of the zombie genre.

The role fits him well.

Yeah, I watched the previous episode again, and between the poor lighting and muffled audio it was very frustrating, especially with the conversation between Glenn and Abe.

Okay, i'm an ass but how did the van land on all 4 tires? The way it went over with the engine in front it would have absolutely landed face first or even flipped and landed on the roof...

Yea...

Sometimes you REALLY have ignore what you see/know and just move on. That was pretty bad production, there.

Didn't they even have a view from inside the van while falling where it looked like the van was going to land either nose-first or upside down?

Absolutely agree! When I first saw they were doing Carol flashbacks, I was hoping for so much more. I'm sure some people loved them for their symbolism and all that, but I found them to be a bit of a letdown.

I liked that it showed that she was aware that the prison went down, tho.

We knew that from dialogue. She told Ty that she went to the prison right after the battle and saw everyone scattering.

If they were going to do a flashback of that, why not do something more dramatic? What they showed was stuff we already knew.

Thoughts on the episode

1) On TTD, Yvette Nicole Brown ROCKS!!! She had soooo many awesome comments on the show, I wonder if she should replace Hardwick, but from a pure-fans POV.

2) The van scene was bothersome. The different camera angles did not line up, and all physics must be ignored to accept it. I understand this is a zombie-show, and disbelief bust be suspended at a pretty low level, but they were REALLY pushing that with that scene.

3) As Carol was exiting the office building (into the camp-site), she was CLEARLY not looking past the door. It was REALLY awkward how obviously she was not checking.

4) The symbolism and character-development was really strong in this ep. Carol was burning something in each of the flashbacks, but Daryl was burning everything in the "current" story. I did not notice this until TTD with YNB, but it was noticeable once pointed out.

5) Carol getting hit by the car was another hard-to-believe scene. She is running across the street, but completely fails to hear the car coming? In a city with no cars, you would hear the single car, especially if it is on the same street you are on.

Story-wise, I REALLY liked this episode. I would say 8/10 or so. Technically, the show is getting lazy. The Maggie-hole added onto all the technical holes created in this episode are getting frustrating. I love the show, and WANT to overlook these things, but when they practically dare you to notice them, it gets hard.

All things considered, I will give the ep a high-6 to mid-7. Stop being lazy, Gimple!

As mentioned there were a bunch of easy to spot goof ups. The van, Carol just tossing her gun blindly through the door, not noticing a fucking car etc..

But it was a good episode to get us all caught up and ready for 2 episodes of hospital ass kicking!!! Finally an episode that looks to have everyone in it. I am pumped for these final 2 mid season.

Also have been hearing that ep 9(mid season premiere) is the best episode they have ever done. So we could really be in for some good stuff here.
