Gallo has all the tools except he can't put the bat on the ball. I just don't see that changing.
No no no to Gallo!!From mlbtraderumors.com about the Yankees looking to trade Gallo:
The report from Heyman and Martin suggests the Yankees’ best bet would be teams run by his former bosses in Texas. There’s the Rangers themselves, who are within four games of a playoff spot and could consider doing some buying. Seeing them go after a rental like Gallo would be surprising, though, as this is the first year of what the club hopes to be a multi-year competitive window. Players with a bit more control would be more obvious fits, though perhaps the Yankees are motivated enough to move on from Gallo that they package him with someone else or eat part of his salary. In the short-term, there’s certainly room for Gallo, given the club’s roster. The Rangers have been featuring an outfield mix of Adolis Garcia, Kole Calhoun, Brad Miller and Leody Taveras in recent days. Miller is having an even worse year than Gallo, slashing .210/.261/.347 for a wRC+ of 73. The club has also been featuring Mitch Garver at designated hitter most of the time, but he’s going to undergo season-ending surgery tomorrow.
like i've said before we can't non-tender, DFA or anything else until he is cleared medically which will be sometime in late February or March so they will have to bring him into ST, picking up his option and then trade, or whateverIt would help with the 40 man if we non tendered him though.
we have a dozen players or more on the 40-man who will be either FA's or fodder who will clear choicesWhat about the fodder?
No hurrylike i've said before we can't non-tender, DFA or anything else until he is cleared medically which will be sometime in late February or March so they will have to bring him into ST, picking up his option and then trade, or whatever
apparently some here think we should DFA him nowNo hurry
Lots of time left to decide on Garver. Other moves may dictate what we do with Garver. If everything about the roster stayed the same up until the Rule 5 roster deadline then not offering Garver a contract(non-tender) for next year makes sense. We know things will not remain the same though, and therefore the decision about him in particular, will be a lot more clear in late November. When time allows, non tender Garver, Lowe to DH and Huff to 1B or trade Lowe, Garver to DH/C and Huff 1B. We need Huff in the line up when he gets his bat straightened out.
Making the call for El Bombi today.
3.09 -- Home ERAi realized Dunning isn’t as bad as I initially thought. His era is almost at 4.00 even. The 1-6 record isn’t his fault, but it is pretty bad that he has never recorded a road win in a rangers uniform yet.
No Leody but If we are making calls today I go Seager
