When I think back to seasons past, we rarely hear much from the Bears who left the team whether it was a trade, UFA pick-up, or being cut to go play for another team.
You think about guys like Lance Louis, Kellen Davis, Jason Campbell, Caleb Hanie... None of them really had any type of impact on their new teams.
The Bears lost several "starters" from 2013 to other teams, all have potential to impact their new team.
With that, who do you think will impact their team the most?

Josh McCown - Bucs
Henry Melton - Cowboys
Corey Wootton - Vikings
Zack Bowman - Giants
Major Wright - Bucs
Devin Heste- Falcons
Julius Peppers - Packers

Copy and paste this list- let the board know what you think.

I'm not sure any of these guys will succeed except Peppers, with some limited success on the field, and maybe Melton if he can overcome his injuries.

Here's my take- Debate away!

Josh McCown - Bucs: Nobody wanted Josh for years, until he did what he did with Marshall and Jeffery in Trestman's offense. Don't see Lovie and an OC new to the NFL doing anything different. (I'm not even sure he will be the starter all year.
Henry Melton - Cowboys: for the record, I hated Melton, I thought he was Extremely over rated didn't even want to franchise him. He's played 5 good games his whole career. That's about it. Injury will hold him back too.
Corey Wootton - Vikings: I did like Wootton, but not enough to bring him back. Good guy, not that productive. Don't see many big waves from him.
Zack Bowman - Giants: Played awful a few years ago, when they brought him back- I was impressed with how he grew in place of Peanut. Could be a starter in NY. Not many highlights though
Major Wright - Bucs: Was one of our worse defensive players last year- ok with a decent DLine. eh.
Devin Heste- Falcons: Again, I didn't want him back at his price, Will be a little misty when/if he breaks the record in another uniform, Pros: he's got 11 games on turf, cons: he's not too bright.
Julius Peppers - Packers: depending on how they use him, if he is healthy, he could provide a spark for them, but just like what we saw, he tends to disappear for plays and weeks at a time. With Mathews on the other side he might get some good match-ups. Kinda scary.

Peppers is a good player still, GB needed just that for their line. I see a impact but not a huge one. Melton could be huge if he can push the middle again. Thought he was a real force once, maybe he can be again. Boy we lost little and gained much this off season. These are the two that can make a difference, they rest were fodder.

I think McCown will have an OK season, nothing spectacular, but not terrible, given the support.

Melton and Wootton obviously depends how healthy they actually are.

I predict Bowman will suck, just like he always has.

I will go out on a limb and predict Wright has the best season from this entire list. I am glad he is gone, but Lovie used him better and he is on a bitching defense, allowing him to gamble more and make more mistakes.

I don't expect much from Devin but think he breaks that career record.

Peppers starts strong, then falls apart as his feet start to kill him.

McCown was made by the QB whisperer. Now he's got Lovie and some newby OC. I think he loses his starter job before week 8.

Melton was great, but ACL tears tend to rob players of their quickness and power for Atleast a year. He might be serviceable this year then recover to a very good three tech, but I don't see it.

Peppers is over the hill. He's still pretty good, but he's not going to make the packers defense dominant or anything. I'd much rather have Jared Allen.

Hester is going to be an above average kick returner, but he has lost a step. I think there are players on every teams special teams that can catch him from behind now.

Wooten, Bowman, and Wright are subpar players and will continue to be so.

Josh McCown - Bucs- Not like last year. I think his production will be closer to his career averages.
Henry Melton - Cowboys- Assuming health stays in tact, yes.
Corey Wootton - Vikings- I wouldnt call his production with Bears game changing, and he is coming off surgery. He will be a nice addition assuming no surgery setbacks.
Zack Bowman - Giants- Is he penciled in as a starter? He will provide depth if nothing else.
Major Wright - Bucs- Yes. A good acquisition.
Devin Hester- Falcons. Probably has a one or two returns left in him. He can do more damage as PR. Unless the Falcons defense gets better, that will go a long way towards neutralizing what he does best. He only fielded 18 punts with the Bears last season. A better question- Is his roster spot exclusive to return duties? Will he be a back end on the depth chart WR?
Julius Peppers - Packers- Absolutely has some left in the tank. Will his plantar fasciitis flare up as it has the last few seasons?

Josh McCown - Bucs

He'll probably play one or two good games, while Cutler faces tougher defensive competition like SF and NY. Every troll will make dumbass comments about how we kept the wrong QB. Then, I believe he will lose his starting job before week 10.

Henry Melton - Cowboys

I think he'll do very well. Not great, but he'll be good. He never was consistent. He'd have a couple of big games and then disappear for weeks. Hopefully the knee holds up.

Corey Wootton - Vikings

Never turned the corner, but he's a solid player. Hopefully just a rotational guy. Nice addition

Zack Bowman - Giants

He's a subpar corner, and that's how he'll perform in NY. IMO, if he's starting, that is. Not terrible depth CB.

Major Wright - Bucs

I actually think he'll do well. I think he was largely a victim of a terrible front seven last season. He's not anything more than an okay safety, but he won't be bad. Lovie will get the most he can out of him. He'll do well.

Devin Hester - Falcons

He'll be a solid return man and break the record. However, his days as a truly special return man are over.

Julius Peppers - Packers

He definitely has some good football left. 3 years in a 3-4 at his age is strange. I don't know that this works out, but knowing our luck… it probably will. He's still better than he looked last season, and I know he couldn't shake the flu throughout most of the year. He still not what he was just two years ago, but he'll be a definite help for the Pack.
