I'd love both of these moves for the Flyers.

I like the Risto trade proposed here but if we are gonna trade Laughton for the possible bottom first round pick in 2026 id rather send him to Winnipeg for their first round pick.. Im not sold on Washington regressing next year .

Hm, interesting. I'd be OK with either of those options. I think both are headed for some serious regression next year. I'd lean towards preferring the Caps pick just because Hellebuyck alone could probably keep the Jets in the playoffs. But I think both are playoff bubble teams tops next year. Which would be a great return for Laughton.

I'm pretty damn jacked up after that massive 3-1 win over Canada tonight. Team USA not only clinches a spot in the Championship game Thursday night in Boston, we also put Canada in a bit of a precarious position on Monday afternoon. They essentially have to beat Finland in regulation or their tournament is over. Even if they just win in overtime, 4 points isn't enough considering we let Sweden beat us in regulation that night. Gamesmanship and strategy, baby!!

Also, this ends Crosby's streak of winning (I believe) 26 straight games in best on best competition for Canada. It's a fucking beautiful night and this Team USA squad is absolutely stacked!! It may be the best one we've ever put together, quite frankly.

In my opinion, the top two lines and and goaltenders are world class, plus the defense is underrated, even without Q. Hughes. Then, you have a guy like Larkin on the 3rd line or Connor on the 4th line. Insane.

Canada obviously is stacked up front too, but I think there are question marks about their goaltending, some of their guys being way past their prime (Crosby, Marchand & Doughty) and them having a lot of critical injuries on defense (Pietrangelo, Theodore & Makar). Idk if they want Sanheim and Harley in such vital roles defensively.

Clearly I am biased, but they should get Konecny in there over 36 year old Marchand and they need Makar back ASAP.

All of that said, I hope Canada doesn't even make the Championship game...Lol

The ultimate underdog, Finland, now knows that if they somehow hang with Canada on Monday afternoon and beat them in OT or a shootout, it eliminates Canada and could easily be enough to make the Championship game. Wild shit!!

Plus, I love the fact that the Americans got into brawls with the Canadian players when those douchebags in the stands booed the American National Anthem.

So here’s my payback for booing the US national anthem. I want Canada to make the final against US. I think US will win again - the size and skill of the D-Men stymied Canada all night - except, obviously McDavids breakaway.
so here goes…. During O’Canada, instead of booing, chant “51st State”.

I do think we have the better overall team and we'll have home ice advantage, but if we beat Canada again in the finals (and convincingly), they might just ask to become the 51st state...Lol

I'm wondering where their 3rd line of Cirelli, Point and Hagel have been. Those are top players and all from Tampa too. They should be extremely familiar with one another.

When all is said and done, I think we have an edge defensively and an even bigger edge in net.

I'm also a bit confused as to why Canada didn't select Bouchard on defense. They could surely use him right now. I would've taken him way ahead of Doughty or Harley (or Sanheim).

I anticipate that Finland will hang with Canada for long enough to make things really awkward. We shall see early tomorrow afternoon. Canada needs to beat them in regulation or we can lay down against Sweden and eliminate Canada. Why not do it!? If you don't qualify for the finals, you've got nobody to blame but yourself.

That was pretty wild late in regulation earlier. Finland was down 0-4, but scored 3 goals in about 5 and a half minutes to make it very interesting. It's a damn shame that the game didn't at least go to OT. Now this game against Sweden means virtually nothing.

One thing I've noticed is that Sanheim doesn't look out of place with Team Canada. He actually looks pretty dynamic at times. Point's goal was scored off the rebound of a shot by Sanheim. Also, upon the return of Makar, Harley took a seat instead of Sanheim. So, obviously Team Canada likes him too.

Thursday night should be ridiculous. USA rested a bunch of top guys tonight and really had absolutely nothing to play for. I expect everyone to be back for the Championship game and rematch against Canada. No way guys like Tkachuk, Matthews, McAvoy or Hellebuyck will miss this game unless they aren't medically cleared or are benched by the coaches, which I don't see happening either. I'm sure Canada will play better, but I also think that we can play better too. And so, fucking game on, baby!!!

Here's a depressing fact for our Flyers, since a lot of you guys live for that kind of shit:

We drafted Ivan Provorov 7th overall in 2015.

Who was drafted 8th?

Zach Werenski, who is right now arguably the top defenseman for Team USA and a definite Norris Trophy candidate this season in the Nhl.

I was thinking maybe trying to steal Yager from Winnipeg instead of taking a first round pick.

Canada vs USA averaged 4.4 and peaked at 5.2 million viewers I have to assume Thursday will top that by more than 1 million.

Those are crazy number for hockey and i love it.

The cap may jump up way higher if we could do half of that on a regular basis.

Keep the hockey momentum going and kick Canadas ass again!!:usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2:
