Washington just announced it has reinstated QB Cyler Miles, but now it's up to Petersen on if or when he'll be cleared to practice or play this season.

WR Demore'ea Stringfellow will transfer which means he'll probably have to sit out the 2014 season if he gets accepted at another PAC school, but would be available in 2015. I'm sure many PAC coaches will roll out the carpet for him. He was one of the best WRs on the west coast during his high school and showed a lot of potential last year in limited play on the Huskies.

I doubt Petersen will let her come back if she doesn't stop that twerking shit.

I'm in the minority it appears but I think the neutral site game is freaking terrible. That stadium will never be half full and make the Pac 12 look amateurish to the rest of the country. In addition, it hurts the top team's chance of making the playoff. The Pac already gets screwed all the time in the BCS and this will only lessen the chances of a team making the playoff. Great work Pac. These ADs make high 6 figures a year. They should be able to figure out how to put on a football game with at least a week's notice. Honestly most have a decent idea 3 weeks in advance if they have a real chance and sometimes it's even clinched 2 weeks in advance. Buck up and make the game better for the league, not the ADs.

How do you figure? I think that it actually makes more sense than playing it at one teams home stadium because you always know what city it's in and don't have to worry about trying to get hotel reservations, etc. against some convention or other event.

The thing they really need to change though is playing it on a Friday. That makes it hard for folks to even be able to attend the game, let alone get there on time.

BCS is done. It's now the playoff committee making the choices for the playoff teams, not the different local bowl reps basing their choices primarily on how many hotel rooms the teams fans will fill.

What I'm most concerned is about is will the playoff committee truly make strength of schedule one of the primary criteria for who gets in. The BCS was an absolutely fucking joke when it came to that. Strength of schedule didn't matter in the least. If you were part of tSEC, you got the auto bump up the list no matter how many cupcake OOC home games you booked, and ended up playing 2 truly high ranked teams per season.

Pac12 APR scores. These are 4 year average scores. Teams below 930 are subject to penalties including post season bans. 9 teams (none in Pac) received post season bans including Idaho and UNLV (as if either would make a bowl anyway)

1. Stanford, 984
2. UCLA, 979
3. Utah, 970
4. UW, 967
5. Arizona, 960
6. Oregon, 958
7. Colorado, 955
8. Oregon State, 950
9. Washington State, 944
T10. Arizona State, 941
T10. USC, 941
12. California, 938

So 4 teams are within 10 on their 4 year averages of being penalized: Cal, USC, ASU, and WSU.

Reports are now coming out that because tSEC is sensing the playoff committee might actually have strength of schedule as a requirement, but still plan to cling to that 8 game conf schedule to maximize cupcake factor, tSEC is going to adopt an official "*8 + 1" scheduling model which will require them to play at least one non-conference game against a bigboy conference opponent.

But of course they are looking to make these primarily neutral site games in or at the borders of tSEC country and will be looking to book the regular doormat teams of those conferences to meet that scheduling requirement.

A USC spokesperson said they've been approached to play Alabama in 2016. But of course Bama is suggesting this will only be a one-time neutral site game, instead of a home and home booking. Most likely the 2016 "Cowboy Classic" at Arlington Stadium, Dallas to kick off the season.

That could make for an interesting game, but USC will be still be at a major disadvantage as the will be severely lacking typical Junior and Senior depth that year as they work to shake off the after effects of the 3 years of recruiting sanctions. Bama will be at typical roster culled full strength.

lol @ SEC copying the ACC :L 8+1 is a total fucking joke. Looks like Colorado will suddenly become more popular given it's location and conference. Most Pac teams play 9+1 voluntarily. Love that they have to have rules to make them pony up. Total and complete fucking joke.

And should anyone be surprised that Bama won't travel to USC? No way they grow the balls to challenge a real team (more or less a semi-down USC) on their own turf. Anyone know when the last time Bama played a top 10 OOC road game? Did they still wear leather helmets back then? :noidea:

Bama always keeps 1 of it's 4 OOC slots open a year before the game would take place so they can scan for the worst doormat possible and throw a check at them for a onetime home game. This years winner was the mighty Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles of Conference USA. A team that went 1-23 it's past two seasons. Bama looked at that record and got the Southern Miss AD on the phone immediately.

And yes, we've got some breaking news. Saban is currently lobbying the NCAA to declare the Sun Belt & FCS schools as "power conferences" for the *8+1 requirement and to immediately revisit the 10 second delay rule aka Saban rule.

Bama in the Mosoleum. Now that would be entertainment. Only if Bama scheduled home and homes.

Embarrassing move for the program. Myles has tons of talent, but he does not deserve to attend the University of Washington anymore.

Obviously, USC would prefer a home and home, but it's not like we've ever worried about playing a neutral site game in or close to the opponents home territory.

Although, it would be funny to see all of the big boy conferences join together and refuse to play SEC teams unless it's a home and home.

One will never read similar sentiments from a Bammer or Seminole.

Seeing a game at Bryant-Denny is on my bucket list. Seeing USC playing 'Bama in Bryant-Denny and I could die happy right after the game (especially if USC won).

The problem is it's hard to throw a kid off the team when there wasn't any charges even filed against him.

You know I wouldn't have been sad to see him go, but when you are setting up standards for your program to follow I'm not sure how you justify that harsh of a punishment. Then the next time a kid might have been involved but not charged do you always kick?

Stringfellow was easy and thank god they did the right thing and he is leaving the team. He is arguably a bigger talent than Miles. His upside was huge, but pleading out on 3 charges made that call super easy and our team is better off without him no matter how much his skills might be missed.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see Miles suspended for at least the first game. As I said on the UW board making him stay home while the rest of the team gets to fly to Hawaii to play a game is a hell of an added punishment.

I would like to have seen him leave, but I fully understand why he wasn't kicked. If the police didn't have enough evidence of his involvement in the attacks we are kind of stuck where we are.
