It's called entertainment. It's called sport. Playing crappy teams is not entertaining . I'd rather my team get a scare and maybe lose once in a while than play shitty teams all the time. I guess you're another guy who gets his self worth because his team won a game any game. You'd be happy to play a trucking school every week at home and then come and brag about your record. Nice.

:10::agree:

I like the way Tenn schedules, even if we get our asses kicked more time than not

I am with you. Getting beat up by that 2011 LSU team was just fine by me. It was an indicator of where the Ducks really were. I take that 13 point beating all day down at Jerry World vs a game vs Idaho State.

Aint life great?

BTW...

IF the Pac were to expand to 14 teams...Boise State and San Diego State look like the contenders. I would love to have smileid in our forums daily...

Gawd Dayum I love those Boise Boyz, BBz as I like to refer them as. Accurate and dangerous at the same time :suds:

That is similar to bringing in a cow shit display into a gorgeous Rose Garden or something.

IF we just had to expand to 14 (which I hope we never do) I would be voting for big dogs. Like some Big12 teams... I am talking cream of the crop Big12 teams. But, we have been down that road and it didn't work.

SO if we had to settle for a couple teams, I vote for BYU over both Boise and San Diego.

Perception? Are you saying that Bama has a poor perception amongst fans and the media? That can not be further from the truth. I dont like Bama, but the reason they can schedule however they like is because the media's perception of Bama. From a fan's perspective I would love to see great OOC games on everyone's schedule, but I have yet to see a logic argument of why a University should do that.

The perception has been that Alabama has been good these past few years and deserved to be NCs but another perception among the informed is that it plays crap teams a lot and it plays them only at home while some teams have the balls to play decent teams or good teams once in a while and even play them at their house (the horror). Alabama doesn't need that kind of advantage (or maybe it does) if it's as good as its fans say.

If and when a team get's over looked for strength of schedule will finally give a reason why. But SoS only matters when it is in favor of the SEC.

I completely agree, but 2011 proved that SOS was not really the determining factor.

Another factor to remember when you see SOS is that most don't include every game. If a FBS team has played a FCS team, it will not affect the FBS' SOS.

Pure speculation on your part, but what is fact is that former, weak Big 12 teams can immediately compete for the SEC CCG and immediately be pretty decent/above average teams in the SEC after being punching bags in the Big 12. That we know for sure....
This is such a tiresome, faulty argument.

Bullshit.

Alabama has had one of the toughest schedules in the country, until the past 2 years. Of which I am always quick to point out.

Just because you say something over and over doesn't make it true.

Bama has a one game schedule this year. Auburn. That's it and that's at home. But keep preaching how it's week in and week out in the SEC

Well if you don't care about perception and you don't care that your team is playing a cupcake with no chance to make it a game at the end of the season just to help you get a better ranking then I guess so. I'd be pissed if USC was playing Azuza Pacific late November no matter how much it helped the standings. I'm just wondering who Alabama would have to schedule to get that advantage back if teams did do the same.
Hmmmm. Play rugby teams and have them play blindfolded?
All the NCs they have had in the past few years ... people pretty much calling them a dynasty ... as much as I hate them, I am sure they aren't too concerned about some envious "perception" coming from from a few fans in the PAC. LOL. You seem to want to project your wants and desires (some of which I agree with - I dislike FCS games and like more BCS games) on everyone else, and candidly I don't think that many people are with on this.

I also noticed you've gone from hating if USC played cupcakes - once I pointed out that they do play cupcakes - to not playing them in November - even though they play Notre Dame in November who are often a cupcake ... I kid, ND, I kid!

Bama fan- you'd have something to stand on if Alabama played some average teams away from home at least once in a while. A Syracuse a Fresno State an Oregon State. Some team who might have a few players . Instead Alabama plays the North texas- Florida Atlantics of the world ONLY at home. So no you don;t play Boise because of their Stadium. You don;t play anything close to a team who might give you a game away from home if you can help it. But it's funny reading you trying to deny this.

It plays some of the best teams in the country away from home every year because we play SEC teams.

Last year we played(final AP rankings):

The #2 and #18 teams in the country in an away game. We played the #14 game at home, but the way that series seems to go, that was kinda scary as we seem to win more often when it's away, and they seem to win more often when it's home for us.

Is playing the #2 and #18 teams in the country in an away game not good enough for you? Oh that's right, you gotta pretend like only OOC games matters in order to cherry pick your data in order to have a case.

How did USC do I wonder? Well golly gee, not a single quality OOC game out of conference. Oh, you play Notre Dame every year right and it was home right? So how is that any different than a conference game? Because it lacks a label?

You did however play #11 Stanford and #16 UCLA in an away game, if we want to count conference games.

Sorry, but I think you are full of shit and should maybe apply the stupid shit you say to your own team before trying to throw that standard elsewhere.

For starters, I'm the first to talk about Alabama's weak schedule. But guess what? Oregon's is even weaker.

Based on what? We play Michigan State OOC. Stanford (another pre season top 5). That alone is tougher than Bamma :laugh3:

Based on including the other 10 games you have on your schedule.

I agree that SoS isn't taken into account enough. I'm not sure what the problem is with pointing out that other factors matter too.

I'm pretty sure if the gap had been bigger, OKSt would have went.
