Cool pics. The $225 million renovation of Sun Devil stadium has definitely commenced. To be completed by 2017 season. Phase one that started this month includes the demo of 5,700 seats from the north-end upper deck.

While final architecture plans haven't been released, this section being removed is most likely to make way for the new deck concession/ video screen scoreboard area in this render pic.

I'll take that as my que to get back to work for now. I can tell when someone has thrown in the towel.

You don't want to address the larger picture and that's fine. There is more wrong with college football than the SEC just not adding one more conf game. It's a package deal. Fixing all of it would make for a better college football product for all of us fans.

4D20, You have told us in the past that you have never been to a live game. Were you able to make it to one last year? If not, you really have to do something about that. Please go spend the day both seeing one of those joke games and then one against LSU or Auburn and tell us if there is a difference for that same money spent going to that game. I just wonder if your perspective would change at all when you get your yearly bill for tickets and see so many horrible games on it.

This year I paid over a thousand dollars to get a pair of tickets to see 7 home games. All of the 3 OOC games are junk and I'm not happy about it. And yes I have sent my opinions to the school about it. If it wasn't for getting Stanford, UCLA, and ASU at home I might have considered not keeping my tickets. We also have Oregon State at home which at least is a regional rival. Having to pay full price to see Eastern Wa, Illinois, and Georgia State is a total and complete fucking joke. By the time you add in the cost of tailgating and all that goes with going to those games I'll be out $500-$600 for 3 embarrassingly dumb games. Would YOU be happy with that?

All I want is better college football. Why is that a bad thing?

Once again, complain to your own school about your season ticket games. It's not the fault of the SEC that your team schedule games you think is crap.

Hell even in the angle you are wanting to take it's not even the SEC that is at fault, it would be the people who kept trying to push Boise St and TCU up years back as "BCS Busters" in order to create chaos and a push for a CFP. Which oddly enough as soon as they got that, they started pushing for formats that wouldn't even include them.

No matter if the SEC schedules whatever teams or doesn't, it's the voters and others that reward and value a 0 loss season over SoS more that is at fault here. In the end, all you are doing is blaming the SEC for doing the same things every other conference does, as if it's up to the SEC to play an even more difficult schedule than they already have, while at the same time generally already having a harder overall SoS than the other conferences.

It's ridiculous.

I've never been to an Alabama game, yes it's true. I was too poor when I lived in state and I've lived too far away as an adult. But I've been to plenty of live sporting events in my life, especially professional games and meh. Outside Hockey, TV has always been a better experience for watching the game. It's the other stuff, not the game itself, that makes seeing it live fun.

And btw, as that gamecock poster proved last year with polls. When someone actually does take SoS into account and bases rankings off what a team has actually done. You all go into fits about the rankings, call him names and whatever else all because it's not close enough to the general perception of things which as someone in this thread mentioned has way more to do with the helmet than the SoS.

I hear bitching about different topics around here, and when actually presented with something different that is along the guidelines they preach are so great, they completely reject the results.

So you'll have to excuse me a bit when I think the majority of these complaints are bullshit and just people wanting something to blame for their failures.

If you think it's all about that 1 extra game and still the Pac12 schedules 1 more, then the Pac12 is run by a bunch of dumb asses.
More of that circular logic. We're dumb asses if we don't follow the lead of the SEC, but we can only blame our own team for doing so.

Mamba was right. The bigger difference between us isn't the different conferences our teams are in, but rather an entirely different perspective based on following a team on TV versus actually paying hard earned money to go see them.

The only difference to you in seeing a college football game live is the tailgating? :tsk: I wasn't trolling you man. You seriously have to go to one no matter how much it costs. I don't care how many other sports you have seen live. There is NOTHING in all of sports that compares to going to see a live college football game. Nothing else is even in the same zip code. The intensity in the stands is something you can't feel on TV. I'm not saying go see a game to prove anything here. I'm saying it will be one of the best days of your life given how much you are otherwise into it. Fuck, I sat out in Husky stadium in what can only be described as a monsoon last season just to watch a game.

And I have no idea what the fuck you are going on about some gamecock fan nor what it has to do with this topic. Nice story, but how it proves anything related to this is beyond me.

Pretty sure I've been telling you the same things here since you joined last year. I've never deviated from it no matter what anyone else has presented.

Nice try though? :noidea:

Bunch of SEC pussies minus Saban. He was the only one not afraid to play one more game in the gauntlet of Kentucky, TN, Vandy, Ole Miss, MSU, Missouri, UGA

I don't think LSU and Miles are pussies. They would play anyone, anywhere, anytime.

I think it is just he had no idea what he was voting on.

I said IF the pac12 believes that. I don't. Overall SoS? Sure. Conference games itself? No.

This topic isn't about game experience. And again, as I keep pointing out. If you have a problem with the teams your team is scheduling, take it up with them.

It has to do with all these things that are claimed about people caring aobut SoS and who's actually played someone.

When those principles were applied last year in the local poll here - people freaked out.

nice stadium pics Reg. WIll be awesome Devil fans.

I just hope you put in personal AC units in every seat. Can you get those included in the price of a $225 mil stadium nowadays?

I hope so. Because you won't catch the Mamba down there in that part of the country again to watch the Ducks unless it is in January.

Adding another conference game would add 7 more losses across the conference. Fact.

Adding another conference game would remove one of those worthless games from most of your teams. Fact.

How would it not make the schedule better and thus add WAY more value for season ticket paying fans?

And Mamba, you are right. I forget he doesn't pay for those shitty games. Easy to preach when it doesn't impact his own wallet.

THIS. Is the most interesting point in all this to me. I don't think the fans stop to realize this? Because, it is a fact. And those seven losses could, possibly, knock some team out of the championship hunt...

and, before anyone jumps my shit: Yes, I understand that we in the Big12, on one hand don't have any leg to stand on...However, we do play 9 conference games. Granted no CCG, but as pointed out, with our defections we really have no choice at this time.

This topic isn't about game experience. And again, as I keep pointing out. If you have a problem with the teams your team is scheduling, take it up with them.
First of all I'll blame anyone I like for whatever I feel and won't find the need to seek your approval.
Second of all you can blame more than one entity and I do.
You did see where I said I've complained about our schedule to the team.

I'm not sure why you are being so stubborn, but the reality is right there in front of you. If the SEC keeps being able to get many teams in the top 5 while still scheduling utter and complete garbage for 1/4 of their entire season then all of the other conferences are needlessly adding more risk for no reward other than doing the right thing. So how can you not wish the SEC would do the right thing to make that choice easier for your team if you were in our shoes? It's just common sense.

It has to do with all these things that are claimed about people caring aobut SoS and who's actually played someone.

When those principles were applied last year in the local poll here - people freaked out.
And again it has what to do with this topic right now? I don't know if I was involved in what you are talking about or not, but I sure don't remember it. And I doubt it's related.

Honestly it would mostly be the lower teams getting those extra losses, but yes it would risk derailing some of the higher teams as well. I mean the extra non division game could well end up putting two big teams that otherwise wouldn't have faced each other in a game that kills one of them.

In any event it normalizes the conference win/loss totals that so many SEC fans try to use as proof they are kings. Several of the teams that barely make bowls now would fail to do so with 9 and that's just an outright fact.

Anyone who usually goes up against Whiz better be well versed and factually prepared...

Bottom line..in the end the Whiz will "own" you and leave ya butthurt out in the middle of nowhere on a rainy nite naked.

UWUB serves em up smart even IF the team can't play football...since the DJ era anywhoze.

Historically UGA has played the best BCS opponents over the past 25 years in the SEC

Fine. Then the SEC doesn't need your approval and you can keep on crying about it while the SEC has the success you wish you did.

Good Day.
