Jesus christ 6'4 370lbs at 18 years old? That is unhealthy.

Lol scout has his 40 time listed at 5.9. I'm surprised he could even run 40 yards without passing out. He is listed as an offensive linemen but I'm always fascinated by the idea of guys that big on the d-line.

ASU has a defensive lineman Mo Latu who is 6'3'' 380. The only playing time he got all year was in the second half of the first game against Stanford and as a tackle on the second team offense against WSU. The D did did a really good job stuffing the Stanford run game in that second half with him in although I'm pretty sure Stanford had some backups in.

He had a knee injury over the offseason and put on a lot of bad weight. Ideally we'd like him to lose 30-40 pounds.

Doubt I win. Bowl weeks are the hardest to predict because of the long delay and all the coaching changes etc.

Kelly has a job already (and doing a fine job with it) Texas needs to look else where!

Isn't Kelly's show cause still in effect till 2014? Wouldn't Texas have to pay a massive fine to the NCAA to hire him?

There are easily a dozen candidates more likely than Show Cause Kelly.

The article I quoted said Texas didn't find that show cause to be anything other thana minor consideration.

It pains me to say this, " Dammit Regent stop picking on my Chip Kelly" :L ( I feel so dirty saying that)

He is the head coach of Birds (even though I question his coaching decisions) he is property of the Philadelphia Eagles, no longer a Duck...

I'm guessing that whatever college the kid goes to will work some of that "babyfat" off of him and he'll end up playing at about 340-350.

He also looked a lot bigger than 6' 4" to me. Kid looked more like 6'6" or 6'7".

Does the t.v. add height as well as weight?

The article I quoted said Texas didn't find that show cause to be anything other thana minor consideration.

That article just states that the penalties lobbed at Nike U. were a wrist slap. It doesn't matter if the penalties were probation or bowl bans when it comes to the show cause portion which is attached to the individuals, usually coaches, etc... stating how long they're banned from employment at any NCAA institution.

Any school wishing to hire a coach under a "show cause" designation must appear before the NCAA infractions committee and potentially face new sanctions. No Division I athletic director has ever taken that step. As such, "show cause" usually amounts to a total ban from working at the college level for the duration of the penalty.

So basically not only would Texas face fines potentially in the millions of dollars by hiring Chip before his show cause phase (18 months in this case) are over, but UT could also be sanctioned as well meaning probation and scholarship reductions for them.

A lot of times these kids are actually listed a bit bigger than they are. A perfect example that comes to mind is Michael Crabtree. Texas Tech told people he was 6'3, he was measured at the combine at 6'1.

Odds are he is going to be shorter than listed, not taller.

But still I can't imagine it is healthy for that kid to be carrying so much weight. His knees and ankles will be so bad when he gets older.

Former Seahawks DT Marcus Tubbs was "only" 320lbs and it was speculated his weight contributed to the injuries that caused his exit in the NFL. Great player but could never stay healthy due to his weight.

That would be my concern for a player that size, too. Mo Latu at ASU is way up there and cannot stay healthy (or move). Even if this guy can move around, injuries of the chronic variety inevitable, and aside from that there's the worst case Korey Stringer scenario to consider as well. That's just too much larger than human beings are supposed to be. A 6'3, 300 lbs. man is a huge person. 70 or 80 more pounds? And at 18?

Yeah, I know they fudge the numbers like that, I'm just saying he looked taller than that to me. The kid was a freakin' monster. Might be the biggest high school player I've seen.

I agree about the kid carrying that much weight. That's why I think that whatever team he goes to will get him with the strength & conditioning coach and they'll get him down to a better weight. Just don't see him playing in college at that weight.

Did anyone else catch the 30 for 30 on ESPN tonight about Maurice Clarett?

With that, list the one player that your program had that never "panned out" that could have been a stud in the NFL???
