I love DeAnthony. But anyone picking him in the 1st 2 rounds is making a mistake.

He is fast but just not thick enough imo.

He can contribute but shouldnt go higher than the 4th round. He will go much higher. But I think it is a bad pick that high.

LaMichael James has not had too many touches with the 49ers but I always liked his potential. I was surprised he was only timed at a 4.45 at the combine. On film he looked as fast as Chris Johnson.

After watching more of Marcus Mariota I will admit I was extremely wrong in comparing him to Darron Thomas.

But at least I can say I won the Colt Lyerla vs. ASJ argument.

Zach Miller is on a team friendly contract for the rest of his deal and I get the impression they like Luke Willson.

Miller's deal was really front loaded so I don't think the Seahawks cut him having invested so much in him. Plus there is nobody else on this roster that can block like him. His stats are not great but he has been valuable to the team. Not worth what they paid for him but a solid contributor IMO. He has had to stay back and block a lot, and has done so effectively.

Not sure what you mean by higher tolerance, but I jump on any opportunity to get in a pissing contest if that is what you're alluding to.

I usually don't resort to personal insults until the other person does though.

Typically when I'd go on the 49ers boards on CBS I'd originally post about football, crush every argument they had, then they would resort to personal insults and I would rip them a new one.

Cotton and I made such a mess of the 49ers boards on CBS. Was such good fun.

Not sure if you ever saw the personal attacks exchanged between Cotton and Kage but they were honestly hilarious. Seriously the two of them had the wittiest responses, there was a time when just about every thread on CBS had the two of them exchanging insults. I liked them both so I never really took a side though.
I meant I probably find them more amusing and/or less annoying than you do, but maybe I'm wrong. Didn't mean it in any bad way.

Yes, those threads were always worth the read. I tended to stay in the more tame threads if I posted at all, but I did read much of it. I didn't go much to the other team boards. Stayed much more on the college side.

Yeah, for sure. ASJ early 2nd and Colt undrafted possibly 6th or 7th round.

I think runningbacks in general have taken a hit in terms of draft stock. When you have a guy as talented as Trent Richardson averaging 3.4 YPC in his first 406 NFL carries that scares the jesus out of scouts.

I'm still at a loss for why he has struggled. He literally has everything you look for in a tailback. He is a scouts dream, he does everything well running the football.

Ughhhh Petersen Boise State fans were talking bad about you after how loyal you have been over the years....... I would of taken the job. Family life must be tough with his sons cancer tough to move I guess. He got offered but just couldnt commit. I wonder if he will ever leave, but UW ran a very good search.

No I know you did not mean it in a bad way lol.

I honestly have a really low tolerance for bullshit. I do find OD caliber meltdowns amusing though. Breaker honestly never even really irritated me either. It takes a certain kind of bullshit to rustle my jimmies.

I think Sankey and Carrey both go 2nd round and one will be picked by Zona.

Williams 3rd round will be a steal.

But when undrafted FAs and 6th and 7th round RBs are succeeding it not a big need position to use a draft pick on anymore.

How times have changed. The day of the top 10 RB draft pick are gone.

Crazy rumors everyone said Reid would sign with the Cards. Signs with Chiefs that day!

Anything can still happen I guess.

My theory is that it has to do with low numbers of carries. A RB doesn't run for 5+ yards on every play. Getting only 3-4 yards max on most plays is the norm. As is getting stuff for a loss occasionally or 1 and 2 yards.

Where RB's get better stats is when they break a couple of big runs. 20+ yards or more. And that brings their averages up. But you gotta be pounding the ball to get those usually. Especially late in the game when the defense gets wore down and you are running the clock down etc.

So far at Indy, trent is getting only 10 carries a game. And that's the average, his last 3 games he hasn't even gotten that many. 8 carries vs Tenn, 7 vs Arizona, 5 vs Tenn is his last 3 games.

For his 2 games at Cleveland this year, he was getting about 15 carries a game, and had slightly better stats.

Last year, 18 carries a game average, and slightly better yards per game. Seems relative to me.

Back in the day RB's got 25-30 carries a game. Your faster RB's can break one up for deep and boost their YPC, but power backs gotta be used more often.

Oddly enough, he does better in getting passes out of the backfield than he does running. Gets a bit of running room, can probably break a tackle or 2, etc.

I think there is a chance Sankey might drop.

I say that because he is a really balanced running back with amazing vision. Scouts tend to favor the guys with the flashy 40 times and the huge runs. Sankey does everything well but outside from his vision not one thing jumps out at you as amazing. He always falls forward, he has good but not amazing speed with quickness and is a very patient runner. He is not flashy but gets the job done.

Reminds me of a less flashy LeSean McCoy. Sankey has the best vision and patience of any running back I've seen in a long time at the college level. He is not as fast as McCoy and not as elusive but is more powerful than him and has better vision.

I think he can be successful in the NFL but I think he may drop in favor for the flashy more athletic guys. I think his draft spot will hinge on his 40 time. I say he is a lock to go in the 2nd or 3rd round. But his combine could determine where.
