brain tumor that had spread to his spine

U.S. News Best Hospitals: Cancer

The UW Medical center is ranked #7. I'm not sure where his son receives treatment but UW Med Center is tied with UCSF Medical center as the best cancer hospital on the west coast. There is a chance his son receives treatment in Washington as it is.

I'm just shooting ideas out.

Pinkel 61.......doesnt even look it but old age you can lose passion and pride for coaching like Erickson and Snyder when they were at Asu.

If Petersen takes the Uw job
North power houses: Oregon,Stanford,Washington

North is better but we will have a nice all around conference! In a couple years it will be even I think.

South power houses: Usc, Ucla, Asu
in no order.

I just realized something. Oregon has had 6 straight 10 win seasons...

When was the last time that was done in the PAC???

Never?

Pretty cool considering the first 10 win season ever was 2000.

And from the NCAA investigation, we learned how you achieved it.

Speaking of coaches Peterson is the only loyal coach these days.......... I hope we can keep Graham for a long time....... Just so hard these days to do that.

Sark makes his first staff moves and ofcourse UW takes a big hit. Expect UCLA and some other PAC schools to take the next blows:

USC: Fox Sports / Scout.com reporter Lindsey Thiry is reporting that Steve Sarkisian will retain wide receivers coach Tee Martin and hire Washington running backs coach / special teams coordinator Johnny Nansen. Nansen actually spent his first three seasons coaching the defensive line at Washington in addition to coaching the special teams, so there is some flexibility there. A source tells me that USC defensive line coach Pete Jenkins has already left the staff and will not coach in the bowl game, so it seems as if Nansen will coach the defensive line during bowl preparations.

Washington defensive backs coach Keith Heyward is also expected to join the USC staff.

At the end of the day, expect Justin Wilcox and Tosh Lupoi to end up in Los Angeles. If that happens, Lupoi would coach the defensive line and Sark would shift Nansen most likely to running backs and/or special teams coordinator.

How crazy is the coaching profession? USC athletic director Pat Haden said yesterday, "I think John Baxter is the best special teams coordinator in America." One could certainly argue that Tommie Robinson is the running backs coach of the year in college football for the job he did this season. Baxter and Robinson, however, could be on their way out after the bowl game. It's all part of the coaching profession.

Phoenix supported the suns for many years until they got other professional sports it just depends on the product on the court and the taste of Las Vegas what do they like?

It's not just the casinos being the problem for a pro sports team in Las Vegas. It's the transitory nature of the cities population. A large portion of it being tourists, people who own vaction properties who visit for a couple weeks a year, and people who move there to work at the casinos, entertainment related jobs, or to party and leave after a couple years. And the city moves in extreme bust and boom cycles depending on the US economy.

Boise St.'s Chris Petersen and Alabama OC/QB coach Doug Nussmeier have emerged as the apparent front-runners for the UW coaching job.

Petersen has been approached by 10+ schools in the past two years so we know the drill. But maybe UW could be the one given it's close proximity to Idaho and the doctor who provides the ongoing treatment for Chris's son who had cancer. UW runs one of the Top10 hospitals in the US and Seattle has some of the best cancer research and treatment facilities on the planet.

Chris Petersen's buyout is 700K which is doable for any PAC school these days. But he signed an extension with Boise last year which states he must notify the Boise AD first before any in-person interviews with other schools occur and he cannot leave before any bowl games happen.

Doug Nussmeier has strong ties to the PACNW. Raised in Portland and QB at Idaho. Was the QB coach for the Huskies before taking the OC position at Bama. He's a big reason Keith Price put up the numbers he did his first year as a starter. He's also done an amazing job with Alabama's offense.

I believe one of them will be announced as the new UW HC within the next 2 weeks.

Hmm, I know Mamba has been laughing about the whole idea of Petersen to UW so I'll give him another reason to blow milk out of his nose.

What does Wilcox do if his former HC at Boise State goes to UW?

Reunited and it feels so good....

:suds:

I'm gonna sing that song all day......

Las Vegas couldnt even support a hospital....... wdf would they build that shit there it would just block more casinos from being built next!

:L :wtf2:

And your basing this comment on what exact information?

Listen kid there is two versions to Sin City, yes you got the Casino's, the drugs of any choice and of course the ladies of the night, (personally for you I'd hook you up with Katy, she works old Vegas)

Then you have the other side of Vegas, the folks of Vegas that actually make the city what it is, they plan on building something they get it done. Np questions asked, its a sports town, not cause of the betting, they are actual fans there, and yes it sucks the NFL wont put a team there cause they would totally support it....

The only reason Vegas doesnt have Professional sports teams was to Wallace's point. The gaming industry and sports books. Lame as it may seem that is the reason.

The casinos alone would eat up a huge number of tickets.

Are you kidding me.... 8 regular season games and the 2 preseason.

If anyone is arguing Las Vegas wouldnt have a max capacity every single NFL game you are kidding yourself.

Comp city man. How would that be for a comp??? NFL tickets. OH YEAH!

I remember when show cause Kelly was out, and all the Ducks were claiming Petersen was obviously their "coach in waiting" and Uncle Phil would make it happen.

Sorry for weighing down the average Seahawks.

How the hell would you run a NFL team as a tourist attraction? The majority of the fans just showing up in plain clothes and cheering for who exactly? Comp city? This isn't some magic show or chicks strutting around topless to show tunes. Come on man.

you have no idea what you are talking about right now.

its the NFL man. its a destination city and would become the same for an NFL franchise.

I go to games and have no rooting interest for both NFL and MLB. Couple that with LV and it works.

Trips in the Fall/Winter to Vegas now would include the boys going to the game while ladies get their spa treatments.

I get comped Seahawks, Mariners, and Blazer tix from Lucky Eagle man. We make trips to Seattle just for the comped tix. I take the boys, rest of family goes and does other things.
