A week or so ago, I think Mamba or someone posted a picture of a stadium that is supposed to be built out there that looked like it would be just about perfect.

Hmm, I know Mamba has been laughing about the whole idea of Petersen to UW so I'll give him another reason to blow milk out of his nose.

What does Wilcox do if his former HC at Boise State goes to UW?

Absolutely zero reason not to.

It would become the hottest CGG venue in the Nation.

Also I think the Vegas Bowl would become a headline BCS type of bowl and host a NATTY or 2.

Unfortunately, the plug was pulled on that.. Developer couldn't secure the financing fully. Vegas is an interesting place in that ideas like that pop up every other week.. I DO think that UNLV deserves a stadium on campus.. but its yet to be determined if they can financially support a venue that like that.

Holy shit. I was looking up info about Petersen's kid and his condition so I went to Wikipedia and saw this... (just about shat myself)

Chris Petersen (born October 13, 1964) is an American football coach at University of Washington. He accepted the position on December 4, 2013. He was previously the coach at Boise State University In his time there, Petersen guided the Broncos to two BCS bowl wins, in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl and the 2010 Fiesta Bowl. He is the first and only two-time winner of the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award, which he won in 2006 and 2009. He also won the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award in 2010.

Still need to find that info for my wife. She works with cancer patients and wanted to know about his kid. Just thought that quote was a nice reminder of the pitfalls of using wikipedia for real information.

THAT'S HAPPENIN all over the World now...WTF is up wif OUR GOVERNING body when they turn down a "revenue cash cow" in the mouth? Are they so self rightous and affended and that possible money stream to their pet coffers?

Like Vegas has anything to do with game outcomes? What a few dozen times a millenium? If they are not ALREADY affecting ballgames?

Vegas allows whorehouses, craps, cocktails and kickbacks, why not a "friendly wager" amongs gamesters with a house juice kicker?


bottom line...In my OP, Vegas is a "GREAT" enviroment for the games we call sports....

Vegas = Great Sports town but it would take an NFL franchise to build that doubt they could support anything else. Problem is the corporate support would all be casinos and goat makes everyone nervous.

NBA is a tough nut to fill. The NFL is once a week on the weekends it's definitely doable for Vegas IF you have the corporate support. NFL draws period no empty stadiums like baseball, basketball or hockey.

NBA is a tough nut to fill. The NFL is once a week on the weekends it's definitely doable for Vegas IF you have the corporate support. NFL draws period no empty stadiums like baseball, basketball or hockey.

Phoenix supported the suns for many years until they got other professional sports it just depends on the product on the court and the taste of Las Vegas what do they like?
