Real fans always want what's best for their team even if that means their rivals winning. That's what separates true football fans from the pretenders.If its the last game of the year and Washington needs Oregon to beat Oregon State in order to win the division. I cant see why a Huskies fan would not root for Oregon to win that game. There are certain situations that do take precedent over rivalries. If we need UCLA to beat Utah. Or ND to beat Stanford for example. For USC to make the PAC South CCG. Rooting for our rival is no different than rooting for USC at that point.
