Darnold looked pretty good last night, and I didn't think the Line had a great game.

You're right. USC allowed the fewest sacks in the PAC this season with none allowed against Washington and none allowed against Penn State and if you saw both games Darnold was not just sitting back there waiting for WRs to get open, he was running around avoiding the rush then hitting them. USC O line is (was) talented but they seemed to mess up quite often. I'm not worried about the departures because the O line has been recruited well and The remaining guys were sophomores. Now the D line thats a different story. I wish we had a big ol kid like Vita Vea coming back or even on the roster. Helton needs to get some DTs in the next couple classes because it's been a while since USCs had a great D line.

After all the games have been played . Where do teams end up ranked? I like this version. lol.

USC could, theoretically, finish as high as No. 3.

Here’s a hypothetical “form” ranking:

  1. Alabama (14-0)
  2. Clemson (13-1)
  3. USC (10-3)
  4. Washington (12-2)
  5. Oklahoma (11-2)
  6. Penn State (11-3)
  7. Ohio State (11-2)
  8. Wisconsin (11-3)
  9. Florida State (10-3)
  10. Michigan (10-3)
With Alabama and Clemson locked in, USC would get major credit as the hottest team in college football, rising six places to No. 3.

Since the Trojans beat Washington head-to-head and Ohio State was so thoroughly beaten by Clemson, such a leap could be justified.

After all, USC finished the year on a tear, upsetting the Huskies on the road and dominating every other opponent in their way before finishing strongly against the Nittany Lions.

Oklahoma and Wisconsin could take offense to being leapfrogged by the Trojans having easily handled their bowl opposition, but neither beat an opponent as formidable as Penn State in such a high-profile game.

Voters could view Oklahoma’s 10-game winning streak as more impressive than USC’s nine-in-a-row or opt not to punish Ohio State for losing in the semifinal, but both of those scenarios would still see the Trojans rightfully sitting inside the Top 5 in the final rankings.

Either way, USC enters the 2017 offseason with the wind at their back and will certainly feature among the Top 5 when preseason polls arrive.

Here's their other version. Which I dont like. Ohio State didn't score a point for Christs sake.

  1. Alabama (14-0)
  2. Clemson (13-1)
  3. Washington (12-2)
  4. Ohio State (11-2)
  5. Oklahoma (11-2)
  6. USC (10-3)
  7. Penn State (11-3)
  8. Wisconsin (11-3)
  9. Florida State (10-3)
  10. Michigan (10-3)

I like it, in either scenario USC would have beaten two top 10 teams in the final rankings. (Any other team beat two conference champions?) Personally I see final rankings with SC in the 5-7 range, behind conference winners Washington and Oklahoma.

I think so too. 5-6-7. Sounds about right.

No, it does not affect the Pac12. Your delusions only impact your friends and family.

Oh we worry about a whole lot of things, but the ducks taking back the north next year is clearly not one of them.

And neither is some wacky scenario where Knight now pays Taggarts to go away so he can get Chip back and also bring back the recently fired Helfrich to OC in what would be the oddest and most PR damaging move in NCAA football history. That drama would be very very entertaining, but alas it is just your typical delusional musings as that's all you have left from the glory years.

A) - They would be the laughing stock of the NCAA if this dope thinking idea became true.

B) - Fans, (normal Oregon fans) have already been pumping their chests with what little Willie is preaching already

C)- Buyout after buyout wont be a theme Uncle Phil would want since its his money

D)- An Alaskan High School football team is already reporting Chipper has verbally committed to them!

I wish some big school would hire Chocolate Chip Kelly. I have a feeling he's jumped the shark and would try his scheme in college again and fail miserably. He's a Charlie Weis mini me in more than stature . He's still thinking he's the smartest man in the room when he's really just the fattest.

Eh, Darnold would make a nice backup on our roster.

Well you can only win player of the week so many times when you have essentially two Heisman award winners competing with your average team every week...obviously Darnold is better but Mariota and McCaffery have more to do with Falk not having more.
