The questions on offense really are just improving on the O line. There are no depth questions at WR, RB, or TE for UW. Obviously we all want to see Browning continue to grow and improve under pressure, but there is a lot of strength on that unit overall.

Most of the questions are on defense and again they have had these same questions every year so far and continue to improve despite the turnover.

Well damn, that'll shake up the projected line-ups. I wish them all well, make UW proud fellas!

I was already keeping these guys off my projected line ups.

Pretty much worst case, minus Victor. Not at all unexpected though.

Worst Case would have been losing Victor and Vea along with these guys. Coleman as well. The Biggest hit was to our secondary, but I think guys like Miller, Love, Murphey will step up..and Rapp will slide into Baker's spot.

I guess I just didn't think there was much chance for those guys to leave to fit into my worst case. But yeah, if they all go too that'd be tough. Probably in all of their best interests to stay another year though.

Murphey has been reported to have played like a jr/sr during practices this fall. He's gonna be a special one.
Rapp is looking ready to replace Baker.

USC honks claiming its game over for Dawgs, should instead take a look at the prospect of losing 60% of that Oline that helped make Darnold look so good.

Yep, down to just Vea left to declare and he was the one I had no real feeling about what he might be thinking. Won't be surprised if he goes.

Vea would be foolish to come out now, he takes way too many plays off and once scouts start looking at tape that will be the first question they ask, could cost $$$ cause of that.

On a positive note for replacing guys, Jaylon Johnson made a couple nice plays in the Peach Bowl. We're gonna need him on the D-line if Vea leaves as well.

Love his motor, he should be starting already at the end spot. His bull rush is very good and only get better with more PT...

Darnold looked pretty good last night, and I didn't think the Line had a great game.

Darnold made darnold look good. I've lost count how many sacks he's escaped. Had they started max Browne all year that's easily 20 more takedowns. It may be addition by subtraction in some cases. Zack banner was outplayed in big games I thought. Called out by former players Etc.

UW more or less equal to USC
Stanford
Utah/WSU/Colorado more or less equal
Bunch of joes / who cares.

Again, looking to next year the two that stand out as dangerous right now on a national level are UW and USC. I'd be shocked if one of them doesn't win the conference next season.

Stanford will have to replace McCaffrey and still try and find that dominance it once had with it's O line. Never rule out Shaw rebuilding, but let's see it.

Utah isn't going to move up without improving substantially at QB. No idea if they have anyone in the wings ready to go, but should they find one they will challenge for the south.

Colorado is a great feel good story with a down program rising up out of the ashes, but they clearly need a few more cycles of good recruiting to really contend with USC down there. Montez showed some flashes as a freshman and overall has a better arm than Sefo does. If they can regroup that defense and stay healthy they will beat a few good teams even if not really contend with USC.

WSU is WSU. Leach will do what Leach always does. Faulk is back, but they lose a few key pieces to graduation including I believe both of their standout WR's in Cracraft and Marks. That's going to hurt. A lot.

Oregon has what looks like a fairly dangerous young QB in Herbert coming back now with some solid experience under his belt. They always have athletes on both sides of the ball as well. Jury has to be out on how much of a threat they will be next year given we don't even yet know who the OC is and that staff is entirely unknown. They can't get any worse and certainly should be at least somewhat better, but I doubt they contend for the north next year. Stranger things have happened though.

Of the other 5 UCLA is the most likely to be any kind of a threat. They have more talent than the other 4 and have been in contention in prior years even under Mora. I don't know their overall health status and who they lose as seniors, but dismissing them at this point would be foolish.

The others need to pull their heads out of their asses and stop being jokes before anyone wastes time even looking at them.

UW will lose up to 9 to seniors/early NFL draft of their 22 starters. They do keep most of their skill players on offense, most of the O line, and look like they had some depth behind many/most of the kids leaving. It's that defense that is losing most of those and yet they are the unit I would worry the least about going into next year. Our DC has had attrition this bad every year and keeps on reloading and getting better and better.
Ross has already declaired, but now we wait on Vea, Qualls, Baker, and Jones from the defense. All would probably project top two rounds.

How does USC look in returning starters from their 22?

They have Huntley who was rotating in about half the time during the bowl game. They just hired Troy Taylor as the new OC so hopefully that will help whoever wins the job between Williams and Huntley.

You need to hope that Huntley is good, because Williams is horrible. He's not a P5 caliber QB.

I don't know about horrible but when he missed it was by a lot and always high. I don't understand that. That's why I'm really optimistic about Taylor helping. Washington's current QB owes much of his success to him.

Johnson looked like a beast out there. Nice to see.

Yeah he wasn't "used enough" IMO...
I think once the rotations are re established after who goes and who stays, he should get a harder look.
I think it was the Stanford game and he went postal, was in the backfield a lot, of course that is the problem with younger guys they take plays off. I really really hope they learned a lot from playing against Bama, seeing someone else with the motor and how it can be huge in their style of play

The weather? Being a big boy playing and practicing in that heat has got to suck.

Maybe that's part of it, but you'd think growing up in the heat would make them used to it. I think it started with some negative recruiting that had some merit to it. ASU had a hard time developing linemen for a while even when they got some decent players and haven't had a 1st round OL in like 15 years. Then I suspect it's sort of snowballed and guys see players before them all peace out. Then you've got an OL made up almost entirely of 3 stars and JuCos and it's an iffy unit, and the recruits see that, etc. Turns into a cycle. Regardless of what started it, it needs to stop if ASU is going to start being consistent again. They absolutely couldn't run for shit last year.

Barring transfer, ASU will have more 4 or 5 star Elite 11 qbs on their roster next year than they will 4 star offensive linemen.

Appears Vita Vea is coming back for 2017 so good news for us with DT depth.

Yeah, he said he needs more work in the weight room and some project he could be a top 5 draft pick in the '18 draft. Hell of a great bit of news for next season I'd say.

Vea, Gaines and Johnson should make a solid wall in the middle.
