Not sure about UCLA. I think a lot of their problem was losing Rosen.
so does that change how we evaluate the season? I mean last year Oregon fans kept saying that about losing Adams but it didn't change the fact Oregon still finished 9-4

I'd have Washington as 1a and USC as 1b. USC beat Washington pretty handily, but Petersen is a great coach and would make adjustments. Had they played in the CCG, I think it would have been a very close game that could go either way.

If we had faced Bama in the playoff, I'm pretty sure the result would have been the same as what Washington got.

Can't argue with that. They only played once and USC won but Washington made it to the playoffs so thats why I put them ahead. USC and Washington could have played ten times and it would be 5-5 or 6-4 .Like you I figure Peterson would have a game plan ready. If USC would have played Bama I think USC would have scored more simply because darnold is mobile and wouldnt have taken some of those sacks but then he also would have made more throws and probably a pick or two more and the difference would have been the same.Just higher scoring game.

Yeah because Adams was a rental. Rosen actually signed and is going to UCLA for his entire college career so they built a team around him or tried to at least. You get no sympathy when you bring in a rental and he gets hurt.

You can rainbow it all you want oly it's the truth

Well, yeah we kind of do. Oregon was what? 2-2. 2-3 or something when he was out? That would indicate that they were likely to finish with a better record if they had him all season.

UCLA was 3-2 when they lost Rosen and proceeded to go 1-6 after that. It seems likely that they finish with a better record if they don't lose him.

Agree. I think we score more points that Washington did, but give up more also.

Daronld needs to work on breaking out to the left of the pocket, I feel down the road teams are going to plan to his roll outs to the right and nail him

Yeah he was really an unknown commodity but now teams know he's going to pick them apart if they don't figure out how to make him uncomfortable. I can't believe he was 10 for ten in the fourth quarter last night. Thats amazing for a first year starter. He does throw the ball better rolling to his right.
I love that Burnett had such a good game. I bet some recruits that were on the fence are now thinking USC is the place to be

Final PAC power ranking? Whats yours?

Washington
USC
Stanford
Utah
WSU
Colorado
the rest
Oregon
UW more or less equal to USC
Stanford
Utah/WSU/Colorado more or less equal
Bunch of joes / who cares.

Again, looking to next year the two that stand out as dangerous right now on a national level are UW and USC. I'd be shocked if one of them doesn't win the conference next season.

Stanford will have to replace McCaffrey and still try and find that dominance it once had with it's O line. Never rule out Shaw rebuilding, but let's see it.

Utah isn't going to move up without improving substantially at QB. No idea if they have anyone in the wings ready to go, but should they find one they will challenge for the south.

Colorado is a great feel good story with a down program rising up out of the ashes, but they clearly need a few more cycles of good recruiting to really contend with USC down there. Montez showed some flashes as a freshman and overall has a better arm than Sefo does. If they can regroup that defense and stay healthy they will beat a few good teams even if not really contend with USC.

WSU is WSU. Leach will do what Leach always does. Faulk is back, but they lose a few key pieces to graduation including I believe both of their standout WR's in Cracraft and Marks. That's going to hurt. A lot.

Oregon has what looks like a fairly dangerous young QB in Herbert coming back now with some solid experience under his belt. They always have athletes on both sides of the ball as well. Jury has to be out on how much of a threat they will be next year given we don't even yet know who the OC is and that staff is entirely unknown. They can't get any worse and certainly should be at least somewhat better, but I doubt they contend for the north next year. Stranger things have happened though.

Of the other 5 UCLA is the most likely to be any kind of a threat. They have more talent than the other 4 and have been in contention in prior years even under Mora. I don't know their overall health status and who they lose as seniors, but dismissing them at this point would be foolish.

The others need to pull their heads out of their asses and stop being jokes before anyone wastes time even looking at them.

UW will lose up to 9 to seniors/early NFL draft of their 22 starters. They do keep most of their skill players on offense, most of the O line, and look like they had some depth behind many/most of the kids leaving. It's that defense that is losing most of those and yet they are the unit I would worry the least about going into next year. Our DC has had attrition this bad every year and keeps on reloading and getting better and better.
Ross has already declaired, but now we wait on Vea, Qualls, Baker, and Jones from the defense. All would probably project top two rounds.

How does USC look in returning starters from their 22?

On offense
Sr starters that gotta go. Zach Banner-Chad wheeler- Darius Rodgers- Nico Fahla is going to be a grad transfer
Jrs who might go -Juju

On defense- Sr starters- Stevie Tu icolovatu-Leon McQuay111-
Jrs - Adoree- Maybe Chris hawkins but not sure how he's rated

So as far as I can tell USC loses 6 starters total for sure with Juju and Adoree probable and I'm sure theres a Jr or two that might declare. Remember this was the last of the small sanctions classes.

Yep, down to just Vea left to declare and he was the one I had no real feeling about what he might be thinking. Won't be surprised if he goes.

On a positive note for replacing guys, Jaylon Johnson made a couple nice plays in the Peach Bowl. We're gonna need him on the D-line if Vea leaves as well.

Not true in any way.

Losing the best receiver maybe, but not the only by a long shot. Pettis really came on strong this year and McClatcher is another speedster that has flashes. There are also several younger WR's that have had game time and look fairly impressive. We are quite deep at WR.

Not really... still obviously a big loss, but no one thought there was a chance he'd be back. Still got Pettis, Chico is a different kind of threat, and others have potential to step up.
