Huskies still suck?

Didn't watch game.

Nah, Huskies will be fine. Like I posted earlier, they have a new coach, new system, new qb and were playing on the road against a team that is trying to save their program from being disbanded.

Wow, the difference between what people actually post and what you apparently read sure seem to be different.

Please show where anyone was talking about being "ready to for the national championship already". Pretty sure everyone has just expressed being happy with the win and that we'll know a lot more about this team next week when we play Stanford.

I get that you're not happy that the Huskies first game wasn't the resounding success that you were hoping for and that ours wasn't the epic failure that you were hoping for, but let's not just make shit up.

Who do you think you are? Josh Shaw?

I'm with you on that. He (wiz) goes on and on about Sarks lack of discipline at his former job and I point out a case where it looks like Peterson went easy ( two games) on a kid at Boise who went to jail and had to pay restitution for breaking a persons jaw in a fight and he goes nuts and gets all pissy .Says it not fair to bring up what he did at Boise. Am i missing something? LOL.

Fresno State isn't just any mid major. They've been very competitive against the big boys.

Personally, I thought the game was going to be a lot closer than it was...after the week USC had. Going out and beating them like that impressed me.

Lets not act like Fresno is North Texas because they aren't.

The first game of the season is a horrible indicator of how a team will do. It's not like they have pre-season games like the NFL. These non conference games are for working out the kinks and getting ready for conference play. I think that's why a lot of teams schedule teams like Idaho, William & Mary, etc.

I liked the Sarkisian hire. He's a way better coach than Kiffin.

I think UW and USC both got the right guy for their program. Sark and Pete are both excellent coaches, but Sarks personality seems to fit in well with USC and Pete's fits in well with UW. I think both fanbases are ultimately going to be happy with who they got.

Agreed. There are 2 games in USC history that have taught me to never get too excited or too upset about the 1st game of the season.

1976 - USC's first game under John Robinson and they lose to Missouri 46-25. They go on to finish 11-1, win the Rose Bowl and finish ranked #2 in the country.

2000 - Opened with a 29-5 win over Penn St. and went on to finish 5-7.

Good coach or not I don't think Peterson is going to get the athletes it takes to compete year in and year out. Stanford seems to have found an identity that is going to keep them at or near the top for a while. They are getting beasts on the O line. NFL type guys on the O line, tough players on D and doing it better than most in the country. Oregon will get good players because its Nike U and they are staying on the cutting edge offensively. USC is going to get the top talent and UCLA is doing better with Mora. I don;t see Washington luring enough elite guys to keep up. Peterson has better players than he had at Boise but he had a crappy conference and he only had to shine in one or two big games a year. He did have great game plans in those games but he wont be doing all those trick plays he ran there. He's good enough to have great year if the chips fall right but I just don;t see more than an 8 -9 win team most years.

Oregon didn't impress me at all.

Hopefully they were "holding back" vs fcs school.

But if not the Ducks are in trouble this year.

I hope you only mean on defense. Offense looked more dynamic to me. more balanced lots of weapons.
but defense did not impress.

1976- my first game as a Trojan fan. My uncle was teaching at the school or architecture.

I don't know about that. Oregon and Stanford don't land a lot of 4 and 5 star guys (at least not like USC does), but they do a great job of getting guys that fit what they do. A 3 star recruit can be better than a 4 or 5 star recruit if he fits what that team does.

I think Petersen will do the same thing at UW. He'll get the 3 star guys, mix in a 4 or 5 star guy here and there and coach them up. I think he'll have them competing with Oregon and Stanford for the North title in a couple of seasons.

I prefer straight up, but I'm good with the spread if you prefer that.

Straight up suits me. Best of luck sir. Did I ever mention U$C was my safety school?

And you say I'm mischaracterizing? lol I said no such thing. Go quote it and find out for yourself. Although there's at least a 70% chance you will still get it wrong as reading isn't your strongest attribute it seems.

It's nice to know I'm deep enough into your head that you will be up here seeking me after every game though. Unlike TF12 who says UW is too low to be worth his energy, your first post is trying to zing me. I'm flattered, but it won't work. You don't have the tools to match wit with me.

I don't know about that. Stanford is getting O line guys that can compete with anyone and I mean anyone. They have gotten the top O line class in the country for like three years now.. Oregon is going to keep getting offensive weapons that can be tough for any team to defend. USC will get top notch talent everywhere on the field. Those things separate them from the rest. Washington can get a Shaq Thompson here and there but i don;t see the attracting enough talent to make Oregon or Stanford nervous. I think they will be good and some years really good but they arnt going to win in the pac with a huge amount of 3 star guys. Thats just my opinion.
