He has options, so they're not going to DFA him yetI can see them outrighting Terry later and then signing him to a minor league contract again. Thinking that is necessary to keep roster space open

They actually are having a game in Iowa? On this ‘field of dreams’? Wants me to actually play catch with my Dad.

It opens a 40 man spot. Not sure they keep him on the 49 to let a rule 5 guy be claimed. Just an opinion. I am fully aware he has optionsHe has options, so they're not going to DFA him yet

Plenty of other guys that can be DFA'd firstIt opens a 40 man spot. Not sure they keep him on the 49 to let a rule 5 guy be claimed. Just an opinion. I am fully aware he has options
What concerns me more is that the FO thought Dennis Santana was a good acquisition.8 that the Rangers should DFA right (although several are on the 60 day IL and i'm not sure they can be DFA'ed):
Drew Anderson
Matt Bush
Mike Foltynewicz
Dennis Santana
Josh Sborz
Hunter Wood
Brock Holt
I don’t see how facing a lineup with 6 guys hitting .225 or less and not going through the lineup twice is going to boost your confidence but since he threw 3 shutout innings it was probably the right thing to do.they have set his pitch count at 45 in an attempt to build his confidence something Philly didn't do
So next they moved him to 60 pitchesI don’t see how facing a lineup with 6 guys hitting .225 or less and not going through the lineup twice is going to boost your confidence but since he threw 3 shutout innings it was probably the right thing to do.
Keith Law has a new article up in The Athletic about the 5 teams who have improved their systems the most this year. The Rangers were the 4th of the 5. He says:
"The net of all these, plus the graduation of Leody Taveras, at least pushes them up into the top 20, and I could see them ending up in the top half depending on who comes back before the season ends and what reports I get on some of their youngest players in the Arizona rookie league."
When discussing the positive things that will cause his ranking for them to change he mentions drafting Leiter and Zavala. He also mentions trading for Smith and Duran. There is no mention at all of the rest of the return for Gallo or of anyone in the Gibson trade. He also does not mention any drafted players outside of who we got in the first 2 rounds. Had we done better in the draft after the second round, and had we done better in the Gibson trade, we might have had a chance to move up closer to the top 10.
