ASU's defense did not impress me one bit last night. They should be concerned... if Weber State can create big plays against them at home then what's going to happen when they play against a legit Pac-12 offense?

Their offense impressed me, though. Probably should've scored a couple more TD's than they did, but they were just shaking off some rust.

60 yards and half of Weber's points came against a mix of the 2nd and 3rd string defense late in the fourth quarter on a LB getting fooled on a draw. There were some missed assignments by LBs and in the secondary that will hopefully get fixed as the season goes on, but for the most part I like the athletes we have back there.

What concerns me is that once they stopped blitzing in the second half the front 4 wasn't getting much pressure on the QB. A team like Stanford will pick us apart again if we have to blitz them every down. The special teams also looks terrible again.

I think Virginia has a chance in the second half. The UCLA offense has been terrible and this QB switch may spark something for the Virgina offense. If they stop giving the UCLA defense points, they could come back.

The defensive line being so young will prevent ASU from being any more than pretty good I suspect. I think there's a lot of talent, but 18 and 19 year olds tend to not fare so well against 21 year olds.

8 of 20 had Virginia in the pick'em and earned a point. A few of us have 3 points so far and two have 4 points:963busc and Not Neutral -

I'm not sure I can remember a time when my team has won it's first game and had more to be down about than your clan today. That was just a terrible game.

The good news is you are still 1-0 and there's time to fix things, but man is there a lot to fix bro!

I believe we were already in the depth cart at Center for this one. Our Oline looked no better than last year and at many times worse.

We did get some rhythm going in the end, missed a field goal and didn't convert on two others where we could have tried mid to long FGA's.

On the offensive side of the ball Noel and Hundley saved the day.

Iowa struggled against Northern Iowa.
Ohio State struggled against Navy.
Illinois was losing to Youngstown State in the 4th quarter.
Purdue had a rough go against Western Michigan.
