Same can be said for many positions around the field every year in college.

UW is starting a lot of kids with no starting exp and people have entirely written them off already because of it.

Some kids rise and break out while others you expected to shine fall. That's college football. But Adams isn't a juco. It's a step up, but he's got talent.

Yeah but few teams have the QB that can take the pressure of a title run and thats the most important position. Alabama didn't , Winston couldnt even with the experience he had , Ohio State was crazy with what they had in Cardale.

I wasn't suggesting Oregon is going to contend for a national title. Their choking history with great QB's alone puts those chances a little out of reach, but they can still take the Pac and find their way to one of the top bowls if everything else goes right.

I still think the Pac is taken by someone from the South though. Just feels like their year. I could see one of the zona schools sneaking right up and biting everyone in the ass this year.

Who's asking him to make a bigger splash? the team is bigger than one person. its about mainting where Oregon has risen to and yes get that 1 more win but it isnt all on the QB.

The teams that roll with a one man show till the very end tend to have a significant drop off the next season. They lost talent at many other spots as well. All their FA purchases will help some, but removing Mariotas stats from them in 2015 = A PAC south team could end up the champs. Especially with the champ game at a neutral site again. Stanford had a rebuild year last year. They'll be a bigger challenge to the Ducks than last year.

Oregon didnt lose that much talent at other spots though.

Ohio State last year. not one man show. they probably get to the NCG with either QB.
Florida State - They go no where without Winston.
Oregon- without Mariota last year they don't go that far ( we saw that backup)
Alabama- They made it that far despite their QB.

Maybe one man show is not the correct description for Oregon or Florida State last year. I think of Cam Newton or Vince Young or even Tim Tebow where they willed their teams to NCs. But it's also not like Alabama with McCarron where he was a big part but not way more than the rest of the team.

you saw Lockie (the back up) with back up lineman and back up running backs and wr. and in very limited amounts of time.

No i saw your back up in a meaningful game when Maritoa was hurt. If he was at Mariotas level or anywhere close .

Yeah, apparently you have a QB who was on your roster that would have kept Oregon at the same level had something happened to Marcus. Amazing there's a QB competition for that spot.

We act like it's plug and play because it has been for a while now. But yes we know at some point there could be a trip up. Until that happens why should we act like the its all going to come crashing down? We believe in who Oregon has in place to take over.

We all saw how plug and play worked out for the Ducks in the NCG, noting see here folks.... The Ducks are NOT USC!!

Here's what happens...Beavers go 5-1 to start the year, then the real PAC begins...yeah that's right we beat the Goons in Ann Arbor. Always comes down to the "Civil in the end"...either way in the North.

USC gets a commitment from Pennsylvania 2016 TE Cary Angeline \He's a 3* ( just checked , he's a 4* on a few sites) but with offers from Bama, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Florida,Arizona State , Auburn, Notre dame, Ohio State and about 25 more I'm guessing he's pretty good.

Kid had a mountain of offers and he's a whooping 6'7" with basketball skills/TE. Big get for the Trojans. A total terror in the redzone for defensive coordinators.
